Eddard's bones

Dustin's smile reminds Theon of Ramsay, which might imply that she's just another wacko.

Or maybe she's in on the plot with Manderly, they all know that Theon's not to be trusted. She fills Theon's head with her false hatred towards the Starks knowing that he's Ramsay's pet and a natural traitor.

Is Dustin related to the Ramsey first wife(cant remember name)who left her in a tower. If she is, why is she supporting Roose and Ramsey.

As far as I can tell, Lady Barbrey (Ryswell) Dustin is not related to the Hornwoods. However, she is the sister of the late Bethany (Ryswell) Bolton, the mother of Domeric. Domeric served Lady Dustin as a page for four years before leaving to squire for the Redforts. By all accounts, Domeric was a fairly accomplished young man, and his aunt was probably fond of him.

As a result, I don't think we can take everything she tells Theon as 100% true. She might have some old grudges against against the Starks, but I doubt she loves the Boltons either. Did Bethany die under odd circumstances? Even Roose suspects that Ramsay poisoned Domeric. I bet Barbrey feels the same way.

I don't claim to know Barbrey's game, but she must have some measure of power if she feels comfortable telling Theon that Roose "needs to keep me sweet".

you know what, that does makes sense. She is kind of obsess towards her hatred for the starks because she is left alone without a husband. And could not move on with her life.

That's not the only reason.

If we're meant to believe her story, she's pretty much like Cersei in what she was "paraded" so a Stark would want to marry her. The only thing she got was that Brandon took her virginity, she probably fall for him but he still was going to marry Cat. Also, he told her that he was marrying her because "his father was making him" due to his ambitions. While this was true, he cared little for her honour, as he was never going to marry her. For her, is easier to believe is Rickard's or Cat's fault rather than Brandon.

After she got married (and we don't know if she had any problems to find a husband as she was already "dishonoured"), such husband had to go and fight in the Rebellion. As Ned was now the Lord of the North, she also blames him for have taking him from her.

So... I'm not saying she's lying, but mostly of the things are a bit, well, biased to make herself and Brandon some kind of star-crossed lovers, while is more likely he was just playing her.
