Eddard Stark is online
It just dawned on me - When the kindly man asks her "Who are you?" and she replies "no one"... Why does she always refuse to tell him? Is he even likely to have heard of House Stark in Braavos?
SheRa Seastar
She's on the lam, and doesn't want to advertise who she is in case they ship her back to KL.
Eddard Stark is online
Ah okay. Yeah, I suppose if the name spread it might eventually be heard by someone from Westeros, or someone who knew there was a price on her head back in King's Landing. Rhaenys_Targaryen
The Faceless Men are supposed to give up who they had been, and literally become "no one", so they are free to become anyone they need to be.It's not that Arya refuses to tell the kindly man who she is, she is telling him the answer he wants to hear. But because she hasn't given up her old identity yet, because she's still Arya Stark in her heart, he is bot satisfied with the answer, and thus tells her that she lies. I'd misinterpreted the meaning behind his telling her that she lies. Thanks for clearing it up!
