Walking Dead Season 5 (No Comic Spoilers) Part 2

They better not get rid of Carol. I will personally shoot a crossbow bolt through the producer's heart.

I thought it was a pretty good episode. Lots of nice little bits - and a really stupid one. When has riding a van off a bridge EVER been a good idea? And shoving your gun through a locked door first is never a good idea.

Did anyone else watch Talking Dead? I love getting their insights and hearing others' spin on things. One of the women panelists said that Daryl wouldn't have left Noah there under the bookcase to get bitten; that he was allowing Carol to realize that she did still want to try to save people and then let loose the crossbow bolt. I'm actually watching it a second time to see if I can catch the timing on that.

The extra scene shown on Talking Dead was pretty intriguing, if anyone else saw it. I don't want to give it away if no one else did.

And how weird was it to see all the walkers trapped in sleeping bags and tents?

It seemed clear to me they thought they were safe on the bridge, went to sleep, and someone, probably one of the cops from the hospital, came along and shot them to death while they were sleeping. At least one of the sleeping bags with the walker in it had bullet holes and dried blood streaks.

Huh. I didn't get that from it. bullet holes, you say?

I know the cops from the hospital are one step ( a small one) away from being murderous thugs, but I truly didn't think they'd go so far as to kill people who could potentially strengthen their group. I'm probably being naïve, though. More mouths to feed, right?

Are they only saving women and doctors, then? (and not even doctors, if the doc at Grace has anything to say about it.)

ETA: Yeah, Daryl let loose the crossbow as soon as Carol called out, "Daryl!" and the walker was getting close to Noah's neck. He must have been aiming prior to that.

Wait, so Atlanta is just a few kilometres away from the church where they're at now? Three years of travelling, and they're still just a day's march from where they were in the pilot.

I was wondering the same thing ... Wasn't there a shot of the tank Rick gets trapped in on season one ?

lotsa little loose carol ends tied up there. hope they don't off her.

They probably will. I could be wrong though. It seems whenever the show focuses so much on a character, they kill them. Although, I realy thought Beth was goner. Maybe they'll both die. :dunno:

I just took screencaps of the evidence and uploaded to imgur here. That's murder of all four people in sleeping bags. I hadn't even seen the holes on all four when watching the episode last night. I didn't notice any holes on the tents, but I imagine someone opened the tents up, shot those inside dead, and zipped up the tent again.

As far as the distance from Atlanta, remember that they haven't been trying to get away from Atlanta, just someplace secure. So they have simply been traveling in directions that they coose as they go. Could have been basically zig zagging just north of Atlanta the whole time. Also, they were driving in this epiosode, not walking, huge difference.

That's pretty decisive then. Wonder if these folks in the tents and sleeping bags were considered a threat of some sort.

I'm interested as to when someone is deemed worthy of saving and when not. Do they only save women? as evidenced by Beth and Carol.

But they saved the doctor (who was later offed by other doc.) There doesn't seem to be a logic behind their rescues.

And, echoing what the woman on the Talking Dead said last night, I would like to see what other items Daryl picked up on his travels. He took the guide to recovering from childhood abuse, IIRC. Not sure whether that was for Carol or for him.

BTW, thanks for the CSI-worthy detective work! It made me :)

I thought I heard Carol or Daryl say there were going north. So Atlanta is north of where the church is. Seems like in their wanderings after the farm and to the prison, they looped around either east or west of Atlanta, then after the prison headed south to Terminus. For all we know, the road to Atlanta is parallel to the road north Abraham's group took.
