Konradsmith
You may be on to something here. Like him we take in Westerosi history and come to often outlandish conclusions about it. Also like him, we infer outrageous things about history we don't really know about. Even more like him, what we come up with is pretty damn entertaining, even when it's way off. glamourweaver
The only problem with this reading is that encourages one to dismiss Mushroom's telling of events as a joke about their absurdity - but that's clearly not meant to be the case. Mushroom is able to tell the truth about many things that the Maesters' official histories cannot because they'd be too incindiary - but that's only possible because his version is also mixed with utter absurdities that conceal its truths.I do for example believe that Prince Daemon took advantage of his teenage niece, and Ser Cole was so horrified by the "debauchery" of the "pure maiden" he loved that he turned completely against her as a result. SeanF
Yandel is probably right in saying that half of what Mushroom wrote is untrue, while he wishes the other half was untrue.

Mr Hodor
...with his outlandish theories about things he couldn't know anything about. Yeah, it's pretty clear what the Fool is suppose to represent. I agree. Just have a look at "why was bloodraven in the black cells?" The theories ranged from fued with Maekar to having an affair with Aerys and his wife. While the reality was quite simple.
