Jack Bauer 24
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Missing_%28TV_series%29Anyone watching this? It's amazing. It's an 8 episode mini series airing on BBC One on Tuesday nights. Episode 5 is this Tuesday. Starz has picked it up and is airing it on Saturday nights, but they're a couple episodes behind. RedEyedGhost
I really like it, but it's depressing as fuck. I recommended it in the Moody Murder Mysteries thread and didn't get any bites either, so it might just be you and me. I haven't watched the fifth episode yet. This show might have the creepiest legal relationship ever.

RedEyedGhost
It's my favorite show right now. What do you mean creepiest legal relationship? Only 3 episodes left, do you think they'll find Oliver? The mom being engaged to the liaison officer, who has a son the same age as Oliver that she mistook for Oliver on the street. CREEPY! Realistically I don't see how they get him back, but it's tv, so I'll be shocked if they don't.

red snow
I was a little late to this one but the BBC has just produced a great crime show. It's about a missing boy told from the present but with flashbacks filling in the gaps over the 8 years he has been missing. During the show we see how characters have changed with several neat twists and revelations. The case goes from being an abduction to possibly being something much bigger. It's also amazingly well shot. Sound familiar? It's because it is uncannily like "true detective". From episode 3 onwards there are even scenes which are similar (cops raid a hut in the middle of the countryside). That' s not to say this is a rip off at all - there's no way this was made in response to TD but more a zeitgeist thing. Or more probably HBO and BBC have been inspired by the recent european hits. Anyway fans of True Detective and well put together crime dramas should check it out. You can also play "spot the dwarf from the hobbit" there are at least 2, I think there's a third but need to confirm. The show also reveals that French paper look better with time while the British don't :) I'm only up to episode 4 yet but I agree it's unlikely they'll get him back - after this amount of time it's better for everyone he didn't grow up in whatever environment he's in. Then again, I do suspect it's someone familiar to him as it's odd he walked off without much of a struggle (although the commotion of the football may have masked this). Given the depressing nature of the show, I suspect it will be a bittersweet victory for the dad and the detective in solving the case.

I thought it was only a 6 parter but pleased it has 8 as it seems to have the legs for it.

RedEyedGhost
I'm going to watch last nights episode tonight. Anyone watch it?Yeah, that was great. We've seen one of those coins before, yes? I can't remember who had it, but it must be a fairly high reaching conspiracy to get Jean Martin shanked that quickly in prison. Makes me wonder if the police captain(? or whatever he is - the guy Baptiste got into it with as he tried to shut the case down) is involved somehow. At this point I think he almost has to be. Mark Antony
4 eps deep about to watch 5, show is super depressing but really good. Great cinematography and score. The actors all are doing a wonderful job as well. Episode 6 is on demand but I'll have to pay the iron price for 7 and 8 I think.
RedEyedGhost
That was a pretty good finale. I'm thrilled that they didn't take the easy way out (not that ramifications of him being alive and a prisoner for 8 years would have been that easy). What a dark ending that was, especially after they teased us with the drawing in the frost to open the episode. Great show, but depressing as fuck.
