Football 33: The Return of the Red Devils!

I'll repost my last post here, so people get a chance to mock it:

I've never been this upbeat after losing 3-0 to Manu before.

We had more attempts, more shots on goal, more shots off target and more shots blocked. We had more corners, more attacking third passes, more crosses, more take-ons.

We could/should have scored just before Manu's first goal, and we could/should have scored just before their third goal.

We looked dangerous going forward, we created a bucketload of chances and we were foiled by a mixture of bad finishing, incredible goalkeeping (which is worryingly turning into a habit for De Gea) and a bad offside decision.

We finally looked like the team from last season minus the two best strikers in the league (last season). Why the fuck has Brendan just now rediscovered his courage and offensive way of playing the game?

This is what I've missed. I'd genuinely, honestly rather lose 3-0 to Manu like this than beat fucking Stoke 1-0 at Anfield through a kamikaze Glen Johnson header.

We have built some good momentum but I still don't think we can mount a serious title challenge unless we improve defensively. We gave up alot of chances against Arsenal, Southampton and now Liverpool. Eventually the opposition are going to stick some of those away. A top 4 finish this season will be good enough for me.

Playing United is good for encouragement. Everything you said above can be applied to most games against United these days.
