[No Spoilers] Telltale's Game of Thrones reviews

How is Episode 1? I enjoyed Telltale's games (Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us) a lot more when I can just go through all the episodes at my own pace. Those 2-3 month waits killed whatever momentum the story had and the effects of whatever decisions I made. However, those were derived series that I either didn't care or didn't know about. I was planning on hanging around this site when Season 5 comes out, but I learned my lesson back in the day with the Red Wedding.

So the question: buy now, or cut myself off from all GoT/ASOIAF discussion for about a year and wait for all the episodes to come out?

No reviews from the rest of you, but I knew I'd get spoiled somewhere and said "fuck it." Here's a bare-bones, no spoiler review.

It gets the feel right. The Forresters are Stark 2.0, but that's OK by me. It's less of a video game than an interactive part of the show, but that's par for the course of Telltale. The biggest complaint of the reviews that I've read are about how little your choices matter. It's too early to criticize the game for that, but it also shows a weakness of the episodic nature of the game. In two months, I probably won't remember why I saved character X over character Y, or killed character Z rather than showing mercy. I ran into that same problem with The Walking Dead: Season 2, but waiting wasn't an issue since I don't exactly read news on the Walking Dead.

If you think you can avoid the spoilers, I'd advise that you stay away until it's complete.
