kdevans Posted December 20, 2014 Share Posted December 20, 2014 Any comments on what is plainly the Battersea Shield appearing on page 164-5: The Battle of the Seven Stars? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battersea_Shield) As with most art of this sort, many motifs are inspired by real historical pieces, but this is a straight up copy. Obviously it reinforces the Westeros as Britain, First Men as Britons, Andals as Angles/Saxons theme. Are there any other real items popping up in other illustrations?
