yxalitis
THis thread is to ask that question about whomever you feel the books simply forgot about.,Mine? Gendry. Is he still simply working as a blacksmith at the Inn on the Crossroads?Seems an odd place to leave an heir to the throne...
JonCon's Red Beard
Gendry is not an heir to the throne, he's a bastard and no one can claim he's actually Robert's son. Also, he's there with a purpose, protect those who are been left there. Kinda.
James Steller
Gendry was never an heir to the throne, and bastards are left by the wayside all the time. My personal #1 choice for characters we have yet to hear from again are Maege Mormont and Galbart Glover. Did they reach Howland Reed? How many people have they contacted aside from Alysane and Lyanna and (maybe) Robett Glover & the Manderlys? Why haven't they sneaked back home? What are they planning? Ser Duncan of Flea Bottom
He is just a bastard, now knighted, but I think he won't play any essential role anymore. Maybe if Stannis recognize him, if he becomes a king he can legitimize Gendry, but I really doubt it, he has intentions to make Shireen his heir. I just think his story kind of ''ended''. Rrachel
I miss Gendry too, seing him in someway or maybe knowing about him in the future would be nice. Also, one of my impossible ships is Arya x Gendry so... yup.
Paramour Pounder
For the longest time I pondered the whereabouts of Rickon and Osha. That's before I read a dance of dragons, of course, but still, they were just kinda "forgotten" for a book and half.
*ghosti-
I'd like to read about Gendry again. I don't know anyone who would want to legitimize him though.I'm afraid he may turn up in an Arya chapter in a very sad way.
Vikingkingq
He's a knight of the Brotherhood Without Banners. We'll probably see him again in the next Jaime/Brienne ch.

Mychel_Redfort
What happened to Old Nan? I don't like to think of her stuck all alone at the Dreadfort... :( The same can be said for Beth Cassel. But my first choice would be Edric Storm. So much of Dance happens in Essos, and yet no words from him and his companions.
Lord Lannister
Gendry was never an heir to the throne, and bastards are left by the wayside all the time. Yeah, Gendry was never going to be heir. Let's face it. He's a blacksmith, even if his parentage is known he's not qualified. Mya is a glorified stable girl and Bella's a prostitute. They'll never rule either. The only one of Robert's kids who could possible make a case is Edric Storm given he grew up with Renly at Storm's End. Though Stannis will never be the one to legitimize him given he begrudges how he was even conceived as an insult against him. What happened to Old Nan? I don't like to think of her stuck all alone at the Dreadfort... :( Eh, jokes aside I recall a Theon POV saying she likely died. The journey to the Dreadfort would be hard enough on an old woman and I doubt they were gentle during that or once they arrived. I could be wrong. Gibzit
My crackpot theory is that Edric is in oldtown, where he will be crowned by the hightowers and some lyseni guys.

Monctonvike
Howland Reed could give him a run for his money. :agree: ...however for what its worth we have at least met Benjen prior to his disapeering. Howland is mentioned mostly in past tense or through dreams
John Suburbs
We'll probably never know what became of Hot Pie. Smartest decision in the entire series IMHO: stay the f*&^ out of it.
