Thanks to Lyanna for hosting the last three, and bustard for creating the game.To take part please send me a list of your top twenty characters in ASOIAF. The twist for this game is you can only use each letter from the alphabet once so pick carefully.Providing I get enough lists in I intend to start the game 8th January.EDIT- To allow some freedom and to make the game a little easier after consideration I have decided to allow nicknames PROVIDING they are nicknames adopted by the characters themselves, rather then fan names or derogatory names. So for example while Ned would be accepted as would Eddard. Or Hound would be accepted as well as sandor. Names such as 'imp' 'kingslayer' 'begger king' will not be allowed. Nor will names that are used to hide identities. (With the exception of only Griff(G) and Young Griff (Y) because these were introduced initially to the reader under false names) So no 'Yollo' 'arstan' etc. Any doubts on nicknames just ask.- Titles are also not accepted. For example if you use T for Tormund, you can't then use K for "King Tommen" (queen of thorns is allowed for olenna as it's a nickname rather then a title.)- Dead people are allowed but let's keep it within the reign of King Aerys II up. So to clarify if someone lived during the reign of the Mad King on up to the present, even if they have subsequently died, they are fair game.- People and magical beings only. No animals.SCORING & RULES Round 1:Instead of providing a clue, I will begin by offering the names of #21-#30 in alphabetical order. At this point, participants will submit what they believe to be the most likely order.For every correct guess, the participants receives 5 points. For every guess that is off by 1, the participant receives 3 points. For every guess that is off by 2, the participant receives 1 point.For ties, participants receive 4 points for guessing within range and 2 points for missing the range by 1. (No points awarded for missing range by 2.)Round 2:When the first round of guessing is complete, I will reveal #11-#20 in the same fashion. However, the point values double.Round 3 (Final Round):Again, I will reveal #1-#10 in alphabetical order. The point values do not double again, but increase by the same increment.Please PM me your list of the top 20 characters but remember only use each letter from the alphabet once. The game will start on the 8th January.There has been some confusion over the use of nicknames. Please check the edited post in the OP. I feel the restrictions are necessary as while not all major characters have nicknames, through titles, derogatory names and hidden identities some characters have 10 names, and I feel that takes away from the difficulty of an ABC list.
