Dog thread v.2

There was a dog thread awhile ago, but I couldn't find it in the search, and it's not on the top five pages. How many of you have cool dogs?

I have a 75lb, (almost) 2 year old Siberian Husky named.... well... Grey Wind.

This was the first snow of his life at 11 months old...

And this was later that week when I built him a sled out of an old rocking horse.

He is a legit bad ass.

I actually want to get a dog in the near future. Maybe after winter . I was wondering about breeds and care and all . Any advice would be welcome. :)

Well, few things you need to answer would be whether you want a pedigree or a mutt(a cross-breed)? Do you prefer a large dog or a small dog? Long haired or short haired? Something energetic that needs a lot.of walking?

I have a cockapoo who is just over a year old now. He is lovely as a lapdog, and he is a real bundle of energy. Despite his size, he can walk for ages then still come.home and want to run around crazy with his toys. He always seems very perceptive of my mood too. If I am feeling ill or down, he will not.pester me but will hop up beside me and.just curl up against me. He does require a lot of grooming though, because his hair is so long. He gets it cut regularly (every 1-2 months at the moment) and it needs brushing every day if possible to keep it from getting tangled. I also need to brush him out if he runs through the long grass on our walk :)

But I loves him

My dog is a mixed breed. We inherited him when my sister couldn't keep two dogs anymore. (long story.)

His early story is that he was hit by a pickup and his hip was loaded with buckshot. He was rescued by a Good Samaritan and taken to a vet where he was cared for and loved. No one could take any more dogs home, though, and the local shelter couldn't take more. He was scheduled to be euthanized. The vet techs were beside themselves because he was such a loving, friendly dog, and so sweet! Well, they talked my sister into taking him. He lived with her for around three years.

Anyway, my husband and I have him now. He is given so much love and attention that it should more than make up for his hard start in life. He sleeps on our bed, often tucked under my arm.

Here he is, sitting at the entry to the cooking area of our kitchen, starting to doze off. He waits there to see what's for dinner.

The domestic dog is, without doubt, one of humanity's greatest achievements. Great pics, everyone!

Kolo, my fourth dog, is a red-grizzle Border Terrier. She is six and a half.

I've got two. A 70 lbs Rott/Hound mix who thinks she's a lapdog; and a 70lbs Shar-pei/Lab mix who has an equal amount of Shar-pei attitude (don't touch me and don't get me near water) and Lab fun (LET'S PLAY!!!!!). The Rott is 7 and the Shar-pei is 5. I've never had dogs before I was an adult, and these are my first two. No pics, but I love the hell out of those girls.

I used to have a 9 year old brindle boxer, but she belongs to my 2 year old now. I just walk her, feed her and keep a roof over her head. They are partners in crime, often caught raiding the biscuit cupboard. I don't know how to upload pictures from my phone, which is a shame because I've got some crackers of the pair of villains.

Boxers are soooooo good with kids. It's like they are made for each other.

My little guy is a chiweenie who had been passed around a bit before he came into my life. He has some anxiety issues because of it. Luckily, nothing that can't be managed. His full name is Sir Charles the Panty Killer.

He's my bud :)
