Westeros
This just in from HBO: the unprecedented plan to display Game of Thrones on IMAX screens received such wide attention and consumer demand that the IMAX corporation and HBO have decided to delay the one-week run by one week… so that they can get even more IMAX theatres involved in the screenings. Pretty interesting, that! For those who missed the original news, the plan is that for one week, participating IMAX theatres will show the final two epsiodes of season 4, plus an exclusive season 5 trailer.Tickets will go on-sale starting this Friday, the 16th of January, with the first screening set for Thursday, January 29th, at 10 PM.See the full release below for additional information:read on >>>Visit the Site! boojam
I see Canada in there. Since this is a testing of the waters by IMAX I am gonna guess if this release is a hit, which I am thinking it will be, IMAX will extend beyond a week and expand showings out of the USA and Canada. I am guessing this is going to follow the pattern of 'Stadium Theaters' special screenings of Operas, Ballets and Plays going on recently, that is single once-a-day reserved seat showings. I predict this will be a hit and IMAX will ask HBO to keep showing this beyond a week. It may expand to Big Screens that are not IMAX. HBO's goose may have just laid another golden egg. I am guessing the actors are properly compensated , they may even have new contracts already.
