Number of Episodes Main Cast Appears

pride of the 7 kingdoms

Recommended Posts

I started this topic to guess the number of the episodes which main characters appear. I did it for 24 characters which are regular for s5.

Note : Bran will not appear in s5. http://edition.cnn.com/2014/09/04/showbiz/tv/hodor-bran-stark-game-of-thrones-rolling-stone/

My predictions are :

- The Wall and KL are will be the two most focused places. We know Wall has a lot of interesting things on this season and KL is the main place of the series.

- Meereen, North, Vale, Braavos and Dorne will be the other major places.

- I don't think any of the characters will appear in every episode since the stories become so separated.

Tyrion 9

Cersei 9

Jon 9

Dany 8

Jaime 8

Stannis 8

Arya 7

Margaery 7

Davos 7

Jorah 7

Bronn 7

Theon 7

Sansa 6

LF 6

Brienne 6

Varys 6

Ramsay 6

Missandrei 6

Melisandre 5

Sam 5

Gendry 4

Tormund 4

Daario 4

Gilly 4

What are your thoughts?

Did you just take that off the Wikipedia page that was posted in that thread about Jon Snow having a scene that took a month to film?

http://en.wikipedia....oldid=643124338

Not that I am bothered or anything :ohwell: you just seem to be implying that they "predictions" are off the top of your own head. (If it was you who filled out the Wikipedia page yourself then I apologise :blushing:

If these numbers are right I am not terribly surprised. Tyrion's ADWD arc doesn't do much for me (it could be significantly shortened easily for the show) but when you see how much screen time Peter gets compared to the other actors I can't say I am shocked in the slightest at his screen time. And Jon and Cersei I would say have the "biggest" AFFC/ADWD storylines so not surprised about Kit & Lena's screentime (they were in the most episodes of the last season as well).

I like that Stannis will actually be shown doing something this season! Not sure why Gendry is back but we will see :cool4: I like that Varys and Brienne are gonna get screentime even though there is not really any book material for them to draw from.

It was me who edited the wikipedia page. I just wondered how people will react to new information on wikipedia. It was also fun to make predictions about the new season. I am sorry if I caused confusions or misunderstandings. By the way all numbers are my predictions. I don't know anything about S5 you don't know.

Ah fair enough then! I am not sure if you are meant to update Wikipedia without predictions but och well :ohwell: (ok actually I now see you have taken them down)

I mostly agree with you though. You don't realise how some of the characters aren't in the season as much as you think they are. If we were going by the books I would think that Tyrion would maybe only be in 8 episodes like last season but the showrunners do love him. I think Stannis will feature a lot more this season as he is with Jon.

Is 3 episodes the least a series regular can do? Since there were regulars with 3 episodes last season, I will use that as the minimum.

10 episodes: None - there are too many different storylines to keep track of

9 episodes: Cersei, Jon

8 episodes: Jorah, Tyrion, Arya, Dany

7 episodes: Littlefinger, Jaime, Doran, Missandei, the Sand Snakes, The High Sparrow, Bowen Marsh

6 episodes: Sansa, Margeary, Theon, Stannis, Sam, Varys

5 episodes: Davos, Daario, Jaqen,

4 episodes: Brienne, Roose, Gendry, Melisandre, Loras

3 episodes: Yara, Gilly

I don't know who in the more minor characters are regulars and who aren't!

I feel like Cersei especially just has some much ground to cover in this season that she kind of needs to be in AT LEAST 8 episodes. Probably nine.

I'll say she will appear in all 10. D&D seem to love Cersei a lot. In previous 4 seasons she along with Tyrion appeared in the biggest amount of episodes among the cast. And that's when she was only a side character in the books. Now we go into her POV material. So I guess we will see lots and lots of Cersei.

And I'm totally okay with that!!

If there's no big battle this year, I don't see why she can't be in all ten. She's just fucking shit up till say episode seven, in jail eight, does the walk nine, dining with kevan ten.

Hope Cersei gets less than 8 episodes featuring her. She didn't deserve that many in seasons 2 through 4, and certainly won't now, when the King's Landing is void of people. With Sibel departed, Lena Headey is easily the worst actress on the show.

You're a funny guy

If Stannis dies in the Battle of Ice at the end of this season, then he will be played up and have 8 episodes. If not he will have fewer (only the episodes where Jon goes to his presence at Castle Black and the march towards Winterfell)

I disagree with you about Lena, I think she is an amazing actress. The problem is, she does not play Cersei Lannister from the books but only someone who vaguely resembles her. But anyway, I'm kinda interested what D&D will do with her and how they will make WoS happen, given all the changes to her character. Though I definitely don't want to see her a lot. Compared to the dumb but entertaining bitch from the books I find the show version of her as just boring and not worth the attention she receives. I really don't see why she was already given so much screentime compared to the others, considering that she was not so prevalent in the books, nor was she some kind of break-out character among show watchers like Bronn. But because of that previous attention I expect to see her more and more from now on unfortunately. D&D surely love her a lot.

The Best to Worst Actress in my opinion:

Maisie Williams

Michelle Fairley

Sophie Turner

Lena Headey

Natalie Dormer

Rose Leslie

Carice van Houten

Gwendoline Christie

Nathalie Emmanuel

Emilia Clarke

Oona Chaplin

Hannah Murray

Sibel Kekilli

And to be honest, we probably will see Lena the most again this season out of the main female characters.
