Flashbacks/Prophecy In Season 5

So it was confirmed a while back that for the first time in the show we were going to get flashbacks. I think in past seasons the majority of us were upset with the absence of them because they play a huge role in the books. Now I don't think were going to get anything major like Robert vs. Rhaegar on the trident more so things like maggy the frog. So what is your favorite flashback that you would like to see? I would like to see Barristan at Ned's execution.

Another thing D&D mentioned is that there going to look into the prophecies of the books. I think Azor Ahai and TPTWP are definite but do you guys think that they will do things more fantastical like Jaime's fever dream in A Feast For Crows Which fueled the twin targ theory? Just want to hear your thoughts :D

I think that the Azor Ahai and The Prince that Was Promised will be mentioned in text/exposition but will not actually be shown on screen. Admittedly I am cheating a little from casting news but the only flashback/prophecy that I think will actually be shown on screen will be the Maggi the Frog. Probably because Cersei is the only character who actually acts upon the prophecy and it motivated so many of her actions (I think the Unsullied are gonna find it ridiculous but hey ho) whereas while Dany thinks about her prophecies (the sun rising in east etc) it doesn't define her personality and actions.

Plus Bran's visions and Jaime's dreams etc could be very spoiler-y if seen on screen whereas Cersei's is so literal that the viewers would get the same interpretation of it as it is in text. Plus it would make a cool cold open for the season.

Might be but i'm dying just to hear them at least give the prophecy they've all ready stripped a nice chunk of the fantastical elements of the books like prophecy and fever dreams and it's not my favorite decision they've made...Just my opinion

I knew about D&D wanting to put flashbacks in but I didn't know they mentioned anything about doing the prophecies.

I don't recall them ever saying that they want to put flashbacks and prophecies in. They must feel that this particular prophecy is necessary for the story. I wouldn't expect a bunch more dreams/flashbacks/prophecies to happen unless D&D feel they are necessary, and what you feel is necessary and what they feel is necessary are not likely to be the same thing.

i would have loved to see flashbacks of:

- Robert & Rhaeger on the trident

- The TOJ

- Tourney of Harrenhall

- Night's King/ Long Night

- Some of Bran's Weirwood visions of the past

For Prophecies:

- Dany's HotU are the only ones i would've like to see on screen. the rest- AAR, Maggy the Frog, Stallion who mounts the world are better off being mentioned and not shown. Although out of those three, maggy the frog is the best one to show because it's actually both a flashback and a prohphecy and can be quite a neat little background story.

I just hope it isn't underwhelming and just a few Cersei scenes. Even though Bran isn't technically starring in the season, they could still work a way into showing his visions.

Some have speculated that we may have bran trying to contact other characters through the weirwoods and ravens I think that'd be great.

To be fair, that whole thing is incredibly ridiculous. It's such an illogical scene I really wished they had ditched it.
