krFR15
Hello,I am researching for a documentary about Long Distance Love. I'm hoping to find people in long distance relationships, in different countries. I'm particularly keen to get in contact with couples who met online through a shared interest and now maintain an LDR. Our intention is to facilitate a visit between the couple and to document the experience. This is a paid opportunity with all related travel costs covered as well I noticed that there was some discussion on the subject of LDRs in various threads on your forum, so wondered if our project may be of interest to any of you.I'd like to get in touch with couples who may be interested in taking part and are prepared to share their experiences and insight on the subject. All correspondence will be dealt with in confidence and getting in contact will not commit anyone to taking part in the documentary at this stage. If you want to find out more msg me at contact.krider[at]gmail.dotcomThanks so much.Best wishes,Katie Rider(Production Company) http://www.indy8.com(Director) http://glenmilner.com/(Me) https://uk.linkedin.com/pub/katie-rider/24/a5a/
Masonity
Good luck with the documentary. I'd be all for taking part, but fortunately I'm a success story rather than an ongoing international LDR. My former long distance girlfriend is now my wife and the mother to my children. If you want to interview success stories then I'm certainly up for it, and I'm sure I could talk the wife round too. Furthermore, we live half an hour (or so) walk from Indy8's registered address so any sort of face to face interview would cost you the first round if we have a babysitter! krFR15
Hi Masonity,Thanks so much for your reply and congratulations on closing the distance on your LDR! I wish that we could interview the success stories because I've heard some lovely stuff about how couples finally got to be in the same place. Alas for the purposes of our documentary, we need couples who are currently apart. This is because we want to document the reunion - or in the case of those who've met online and not yet seen each other face-to-face - traveling to meet one another for the first time. If you know anyone who is currently in an LDR who would be interested in taking part, do spread the word! We're keen to speak to people this week.Best,Katie
Sayyestosporks
I am in a long distance relationship at the moment. My now fiance, Dan, is in Australia and I am in Canada. We met through a group on Facebook.
Lord Sapna
I'm in a long distance relationship. Which has been challenging but I'm happy with. I'm English, My girlfriend is Slovenian. We didn't meet online though we met in China. Now travel between Slovenia and England to see each other. Potentially I'd be interested. I'll send you an e-mail. Yup, same here, My husband and I lived apart for a year before we were married (he was in the US, I was in Japan), but that was about 10 years ago now. Good luck with the documentary! thewhitecat
I don't know of my thoughts would be of any interest- I have been in an dr for 15 years now. My sr lives about 400 miles a way. I suppose 3 things have made our relationship possible: Southwest Airlines, cheap cell phone service, and the internet.
Masonity
Out of interest, why would you choose to be in a LDR for 15 years? If it's worth maintaining over a distance, surely it's worth an eventual move closer together?
