Brown Ben Plum's Betrayal

Not sure where this says this, I believe it was in the sample Tyrion chapter, but did Brown Ben plan on ditching the Yunkai and returning to Dany? As we have seen he is good at cyvasse so maybe this was his intention all along? I don't know if this is actually true but I thought that the backlash of his betrayal (other than from Daario) was smaller that what I would expect. Honestly this all might be me not wanting his betrayal to be real... :dunno:

From TWOW chapter we know Ben is now considering switching sides again. He might be good at cyvasse but this side switching is genuine. A sellsword company cannot afford to let sentiment get in the way of their overall goal, which is to make money. People who have just been massacred by the winning side don't tend to enjoy the money as much as those who were on the winning side. Ben's been hedging his bets from the very beginning. He's admitted this cheerfully to Dany before switching. So it doesn't constitute treachery and the reason Dany isn't seeking bloody vengeance is that Ben made no secret of the fact this day might come. She still seems quite fond of him, even. I think part of that is her dragons liked him, part is that he never bullshitted her like practically everyone else. If you take Jorah, it was the lies that really hurt. She knew she could never trust him again. Ben only promised to behave like the leader of a sellsword company, and he did. There's no reason they couldn't work together again if their goals coincided.

Dany has shown a willingness to work with sell-swords in a pragmatic way. I'm not sure how cool she'd be with a prodigal son. I don't think we've seen that yet. Jorah might be a bigger issue than B Ben.

Yes. I believe that the Second Sons have burned their bridges with the Yunkai, and if they don't make alies with somebody they're likely to get very lonely in a sea of hostility.
