The trailer impressed me, which I'm thankful for since I had my worries, as I love this movie in all its absurdity.

Some of the cast looking much older while others refuse to age is certainly something they'll touch on, so I'm excited.

I've watched the first two episodes so far. Its not bad, but its just not that funny either. Seems to be more about watching a lot (and I mean, a lot) of really likable actors and comedians having a good time rather than laughing at anything.

That's how I felt for pretty much the entire series.  I think I did have two or three big laughs in the later episodes, but I can't remember what they were all of one day later.

Well I thoroughly enjoyed it. But then I'm a big fan of the original movie and this sort of absurd humor. It's probably good they didn't go for more than eight episodes.

I was trying to think of what to call the style yesterday, and this fits it perfectly.  Unfortunately, I have found that I am not a fan.

And done. My opinion from before is basically unchanged, although the absurdity level did reach such incredible heights in the final two episodes that I did like them more than the rest.

I think the show was extremely embarassing to be honest. I didn't mind the movie way back when as an absurd tongue-in-cheek parody - at least a hit and miss comedy generates laughs about 50% of jokes made, which is pretty good. This Netflix show though, yikes, awful. I felt bad for Bradley Cooper, he looked incredibly bored and like he was obviously just doing it as a favor. I know he did all his scenes in like one 8 hour day so I guess not too much wastedtime and energy. It was really beneath Jason Schwartzman too, these creators are no Wes Anderson.

Watched the first episode. Didn't laugh at all. When the credits came on, my wife and I nodded to each other and took it off our watchlist.

Never saw the movie, so that might be part of it. We kept asking each other "why are 40-somethings playing early 20-something characters?"

I watched the first episode, and apparently, it is trying to be a parody of 80's teen movies, but was so cringey I wont be watching anymore.

All those famous actors, all that talent and they produced a steaming turd.
