Characters you don't like (But everyone else does)

I absolutely hated Khal Drogo, mostly due to his Paedophillia, yet it seems that he seems to be a fan favourite amongst many people. And whilst I do not hate Arya, I do certainly think that she gets far more love than she deserves. I also do not understand the love for Syrio, he was really only a minor character and wasn't in the books for long enough to get me attached. What do you think? What fan favourite characters do you feel are overrated?

Paedophillia? In our world yes, in their world no, Drogo is not living in our world. I still may be mistaking because I cant remember if Dany "flowered" at that time? If she did then there was no problem with it (in Westeros universe).

Back on the topic, above mentioned Dany is my candidate, I really dislike her character.

Rhaegar.

I do not think he is a silver-haired Prince Charming, I think he was an insane rapist who kidnapped Lyanna against her will, abandoned his wife and children to die, and plunged the whole kingdom into civil war over some prophecy that might not even be true (prophecies can be false, a lesson Daenarys had to learn the hard way).

Fortunately, I am not the only one who thinks this. I noticed some others on this forum defending this stance.

Oberyn but I guess this thread proves I'm not completely alone.

Yeah, "but most people like" might be better wording. :P

Oh, and the romanticism surrounding Drogo makes me want to gag. He's a pillaging rapist, a murderer and a slaver, and if Dany weren't emotionally attached to him, it'd be clear that he's really no better than most of the people in Slaver's Bay.

Yet Petyr Baelish is constantly referred to as "Pedofinger" for not having sex with underage girls just looking at one like every other character in the story has... :dunno:

Stannis - he's still the guy who murdered his brother with dark magic so he could be King

Victarion - no redeemable qualities whatsoever, his popularity really puzzles me

Arianne - she's boring as hell, nipples and all

Euron - so far so underwhelming. He's been talking the talk and not walking the walk up to this point

Stannis was meant to be king anyway, it's not like Renly had better claim to the throne before Stannis killed him, although Renly was much more powerful.

 I think for some, they are the selling point.

Khal Drogo definitely. Should have remained a vegetable forever. But I think there more show watchers who like him and see him as a "honorable" warrior. Still his popularity is really grating.

I wanted to like Tyrion and Jaime and to a certain extent I kind of do but... they are such hypocrites with such contempt for human life most of the time.

Not the biggest fan of Oberyn and Greatjon either. The former is very interesting and the latter has one shining moment (I guess) but I don't cheer for them. Even though their enemies are worse they are still lousy human beings in their own right.

Olenna Tyrell. She is a spiteful, bitter, rude old woman who would be a good match with Walder Frey.
