Carry on

In response to Red Snow's comment

invisible as he can shift to another dimension

Well that's an added bonus - I still think my interpretation would be a lo-fi interpretation :)

Next they'll be telling me Superman doesn't fly - he actually makes space/time move around him!

No! No! No! How, then, could we see Atom traveling along telephone lines to get where he has to go?! (Don't trouble yourself with the physics involved. I find it best just to roll with it.) Wait... does anyone in the show have a land line anyway...?

I mentioned that power in the previous thread. If they put that in the show, I image they will add fiber optics as means of travel.

The dialog is starting to get really hokey...or, it's gotten increasingly so over the course of the show, to the point of becoming jarring. Every scene climaxes with some melodramatic speech about love. I'm still on board with this show, but I'm getting worried. There's not even anything particularly nuanced about all this love and lack of love. It's just a whole lot of empty words...very generic assertions. One thing people don't do in real-life conversations is use the "L" word ad nauseam. Real people don't talk about love...they find ways to not talk about love. And, by avoiding it, they're showing it. It seems like the writers feel like they can't write a scene without beating everyone over the head with their intentions.

I get it, it's a comic book show, not something airing Sunday nights on HBO, but I would love it if these characters started talking like real people.

That was...anticlimactic...

Doesn't mean that the set up for the end game of the season want there, but it was anticlimactic...

I still think HOW Oliver survived will play a roll in the end of the season.

I think Merlyn is also likely not to survive in the end.

Mostly I thought this episode was good, although it was convenient that Brick was actually the one who killed Merlyn's wife  But the whole thing fell apart with Oliver's anticlimactic return to Starling City. Like really? That's it? Half-hearted greetings to Diggle and Roy. More lies to Thea. A pretty silly and overly dramatic moment with Felicity (who is right about Merlyn and absolutely right about turning away from Oliver, because holy shit there is no way that I can ever forgive Merlyn for essentially killing Sara, she was my favorite).

I did like mini-Nyssa. Adorable.

I still feel a disconnect with the murder of Sarah. Like others have said it seems the team (excluding Felicity) are far too accepting of the fact Merlyn killed Sarah. That aside I think her being killed anonymously makes it tricky for me to accept her murder too. Could be me or it could be the way the story is unfolding. I think the latter is definitely partly to blame.

I guess Atom's suit is taking a bit longer to get up and running as this seemed like a good chance to debut.

Some amusing bits, mostly involving Lance. "What, you're pulling names out of a hat now?" and him immediately recognising Roy; that almost felt like a wink at an audience annoyed with the detective's inability to identify the Arrow. Also 'Team Arrow' got another name check, hopefully Lance starts using it, too, if for no other reason than it'd probably annoy Oliver.

Other than that this episode felt rather confused. Oliver's return was undercut by him prioritising saving Merlyn's soul or whatever over helping out in the battle, the incredible convenience of Brick having murdered Merlyn's wife (and how has Felicity not found that bug in the Arrowcave, yet?) and everybody is still lying to Thea and Lance, though at least the latter now has Sin on his side. Has the actress suddenly become available again or will this be a one-time deal?

Yeah, that plot point was completely mishandled beyond the simple fact that it allowed for Laurel to take over her sister's life (in fact that has probably been the least offensive aspect of the storyline!). Nice to see that at least Sin isn't buying it and is doing something sensible about it by telling Sara's father.

I liked it :dunno:

I think it helps that I don't take this show all that seriously and just go along with the ride. I'm personally looking forward to seeing Olly train with Merlyn, regardless of the insane logic that took them to get there. This show tends to know how to build momentum toward the end of the season and I'm very much looking forward to Ra's coming to Starling City.

Agreed, it's not being handled well. The initial aftermath was, IMO, but not so much anymore.

And can't have Iron Man Atom jump in and save the day when Oliver needed to be the ultimate hero of the fight!

Doesn't Starling have is own jail? Why did Lance want to send Brick's crew to Iron Heights?

I think Iron Heights has been the name of the local/regional jail since Arrow's first season. Pretty sure that's what it was called in the episode where Lance arrests Oliver and Ollie hires Laurel as his attorney, anyway.
