On the timing of Ned's departure from the Trident:

“Mercy is never a mistake, Lord Renly,” Ned replied. “On the Trident, Ser Barristan here cut down a dozen good men, Robert’s friends and mine. When they brought him to us, grievously wounded and near death, Roose Bolton urged us to cut his throat, but your brother said, ‘I will not kill a man for loyalty, nor for fighting well,’ and sent his own maester to tend Ser Barristan’s wounds.” He gave the king a long cool look. “Would that man were here today.” -AGoT p. 352

That seems like Ned was still there to discuss Barristan's fate. And on that note, it only follows that they would they have collected the other notable persons, alive or dead.

Well since he was also Hand of the King while serving as Jaehaery's regent, he would have sat on the Iron Throne.

I didn't think that I should thake it literally. I thought that "sat on the Iron Throne " means "was king". Also other hands aren't written in black type ( Brynden Rivers).

Sorry , Bloodraven is bad example as he isn't listed on this tree.

But Baelon Targaryen and Valarr Targaryen were Hands ( Valarr is disputed) and they aren't black typed.

Is there any rhyme or reason to the underlining in the Mercy sample chapter? Seems...random.

Yeah normally I would read it that way too. I don't think they would include say, Ned, who sat the throne while Robert was hunting. But if a king is in his minority and the Hand and regent are the same person, that person is effectively king and would be sitting on the Iron Throne all the time until the boy king came of age.

Anyway you might wanna ask Ran if this is a mistake here.

Um, he's not? Not in my book anyway. All of the names are black, but the bolded names were the one who sat on the Iron Throne. And Robar's name isn't bolded.

Yeah I just checked, he's not bolded in my copy either.

All of that text could be italicized, as it would appear in the regular books. Thoughts by Arya/Mercy. Name of the bar/pub. Name of the play/book. Emphasized speech.

"What a hideous thing, Mercy thought as she knelt before the dwarf to fix him."

Owwwww,” the dwarf squealed, releasing her.

Someone knows why Robar Baratheon is written by black type in House Targaryen tree in AWoIaF?

I think this is a mistake in your copy, @Blue Tiger. He's not bolded in my copy (first print) either..

Ooooh, ok. I wonder why he didn't just italicize it then.

Do we have any "concrete" evidence that makes Bonifer Hasty the former love interest of Rhaella Targaryen? I realise that the circumstantial evidence fits (between Jaime's recollection of "something" happening to Bonifer, and Barristan Selmy's story of a "landed knight of the Stormlands" crowning Rhaella his Queen of Love and Beauty), but it seems like everyone takes it as a given, including the wiki.

Just finished AGOT reread and this bit at the end of Jon's last chapter had me wondering why he didn't mention Sansa or Rickon.

I'm wondering if this is some potential foreshadowing that he will help Sansa and Rickon later in the series.

Are there any threads out there about it as I can't find any with this quote in it?

Jon Snow straightened himself and too a long deep breath. Forgive me, Father. Robb, Arya, Bran...forgive me, I cannot help you. He has the truth of it. This is my place. "I am...yours, my lord. Your man. I swear it. I will not run again.

It is overt in the app that it was Bonifer and Rhaella.
