Robb's intentions with Catelyn

Was Robb Planning on having Catelyn marry again after the red wedding? I just finished reading the chapter in ASOS where Robb tells her that he is naming Jon his heir and that she is to go to Seaguard with Jason Mallister. Does anyone think he was hoping that she would find Jason or his son Patrek Mallister suitable for marriage? Catelyn is still fairly young. At least young enough to have more children, and in the same chapter she goes on in detail about how Jason Mallister is older but still very handsome.

Also, and this is just far fetched speculation. Do any of you think it's possible that Robb wants her to marry Jon Snow? I mean she objects to Robb naming Jon his heir, stating that if he were to legitimize Jon, none of Robb's children seats will be secure. What if Robb proposed that she marry Jon and in doing so assuring that the Tully/Riverland alliance with the North survives through Catelyn even if Robb doesn't (we all know the Tullys dont like Jon). I think her argument that Jon's children being contenders for the northern throne against Robbs doesn't make sense. If it were, then the children of all of Robbs other siblings would be an equal threat and more so that she believed Sansa would bare a child for Tyrion. Maybe Robb, to ease her mind countered that argument with "What if Jon's children were also yours." and that was the trap he caught her in? I know that this is now irrelevant being that both Catelyn and Robb are dead (sort of). Just something that came to mind while reading.

No, this is what we call crackpot. Insane also works.

The only scenario in which I could see Robb forcing Catelyn to marry is if it was to secure an alliance or something for the North. Beyond that, I think he'd just let her be free to seek whatever she wanted, if anything at all.

As for Jon and Catelyn? I couldn't think of anything better calculated to make them both hate Robb forever.

Well Cat is a woman in her mid 30s. She doesn't have many birthing years left, so I doubt he would wait too long.

Maybe because he might feel Cat has earned to right to choose for herself the second time around, rather than force the issue? I mean she has done everything that could be expected of any noblewoman, giving birth to no less than five children. IIRC this somewhat mimics what Cersei was arguing for with Tywin, but she did have a point.

Catelyn Tully Syark Frey, the ninth Lady Frey?

Yeah, I could picture Walder doing that to literally screw over those who wronged him. How much more horrifying would it be if Catelyn had to endure a wedding night with Walder only to have him "Heh" open his balcony door or something to give her a view of the slaughter in progress? Not to mention I think a parallel story arc of Cat in captivity not unlike what Joffrey did to Sansa would be a nice touch and more interesting than the Lady Stoneheart arc. Oh well.

I think that a marriage to Jason Mallister is very much implied. Now, I don't think he would force her, but there would be some (genteel) pressure, to be sure... Anyway, she was supposed to stay at Seaguard, under what in truth is castle confinement.

Now, the crackship Cat / Jon Snow... No, I don't think Robb is creepy enough for that :)

By the time of the Red Wedding, Catelyn and Robb were on poor terms. Essentially, she was going to be sent into house arrest at Seagard. I still see no reason why he would want to force her to marry Jon Snow, something that neither of them would want.
