Eurovision 2015 - LET ME SHOW YOU TEL AVIV

Since I had such a great time last year watching Conchita winning with the good people of westeros.org and since there is no thread on the subject, I thought opening one. So, this year we would be turning our heads to Vienna in hope that we will have something good to hear and see (like Polish milk maids from heaven :)). Eurovision will be hold on 19th, 21st and 23rd May 2015.

According to the wiki page, 40 countries will participate, with Serbia (yay or nay, still deciding), Cyprus and Czech Republic returning. There will be no Ukraine this year... And AUSTRALIA will be the guest...

Here is the list of the participants on Semi-Final 1, 2 and Finals:

Semi-Final 1: Armenia, Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Macedonia, Moldova, Netherlands, Albania, Belarus, Denmark, Georgia, Hungary, Romania, Russia, Serbia

Semi-Final 2: Czech Republic, Ireland, Lithuania, Malta, Montenegro, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Iceland, Israel, Latvia, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland.

FINALS: Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom

The links are youtube videos of the performances. Hope you will enjoy...

Greece held their song selection last night and we have an entry. It's a somewhat boring ballad, 'One Last Breath' that channels Celine Dion in the worst way. In the link you should watch the entry by Shaya Hansen. All it needed was a pole for her to dance around. I thought it would win hands down.

The singer of the ballad, Μαρία-Έλενα Κυριάκου was the only one with a voice but 'Jazz & Συρτάκι' could have been a good choice.

I really dislike the voice of Slovenia's singer.

So lots of slow ballads again.

Denmark's song is okay. Serbian entry would be better without the ridiculous shirtless guys doing whatever they are doing on the stage. But I respect most Serbian entries because they usually sing in their language. Lithuania is quite nice too, more lively than those slow forgettable songs.

BTW, Mladen, Malta's and Italy's videos in your post are not available. Here is a better link. And another one. :)

Although in honesty, I think I preferred Slovenia's song last year. Either theirs or Germany.

Oh, you got the impression I was commenting the song... How cute :)

I edited the post. Thanks :)

Yep. We're missing HE (no commentary on skirt lengths this year?).

I was otherwise engaged until now. I’d be grateful for a summary regarding skirt lengths, so that I can plan the rest of the week wisely.

Wait. Are you telling me that commenting on Polish milkmaids is not wise? :bawl: :bawl: :bawl: I spent half a year thinking about those... costumes.

BTW, are we going to have a chatroom for ESC as we had last year... That was the best part of Eurovision last year... And of course, China in Dutch culture...

For anyone using the IRC to chat (which is what I think happened last year), there will once again be a #eurovision channel specifically for talking about Eurovision.

Awww, thank you... Link me here please... :)

I had such a great time last year... I made decision that it has to become my tradition...
