Changing the title of quotes

CreativeName

Recommended Posts

Just a quick boring question about codes in this forum.

I'm aware that I can change the title of a quote to the following:

I'd like to take a great big bite out of them Frey pies.

I'm doing this using the following code:

[quote name="No one ever"]I'd like to take a great big bite out of them Frey pies.[/quote]

Now, as you might have noticed, I didn't type in the word "said" in the code. That's a feature that's been added automatically in this forum as soon as you post a quote with a customized title.

How can I change this? Or more specific: How can I remove the word "said" from the title of the quote?

Example: Let's say I want to post a quote with the title "So Spake Martin (August 2012)". Without the word "said". Is this possible?

Thanks for your help.

EDIT: Put in quotation marks in the code.

Well, I can't even get what you currently have to work...

I'm not sure it's supposed to be a quote "title" though anyways. It's supposed to be a quote from a previous poster, so "said" does belong there.

Yeah, I guess you're right. It's more or less a feature supposed to be used to quote someone else in the board rather than using it as a title for some reference outside of the forum. It would be nice to remove the "said", though, for certain situations.

Btw, I did the above quote customization by typing in the following in BBCode-Mode:

[quote name="Kienn, who can't get this to work,"]content[/quote]

Pay attention to the quotation marks "..." for the quote name if you're trying to use this feature.

ETA: Now I see that I've forgotten to put the quotation marks in the code of my OP. So it was my fault after all. Sorry! I will edit it now.

How do you quote someone? I press the quote button and nothing happens. Thanks from a noob

When you press the quote button, the quoted text should appear, at the bottom of the page, in the quick reply box.

:)
