“Gold shall be their crowns, and gold their shrouds…” Maggy says. Melara is pulling at Young Cersei’s arm and urges her to leave. “Cersei, we have to go!” Melara says. Cersei awakes to discover that Tywin is dead. Meryn Trant escorts Cersei with Tywin’s casket into the Sept of Baelor. Cersei and Jaime are standing over Tywin’s corpse where she asks him if he is the one who freed Tyrion. “The monster is still out there drawing breath,” Cersei says. Jaime denies it, but Cersei knows him too well and knows he’s lying. She leaves him there alone with Jaime feeing very guilty. Cersei feels like a lion drowning in a pool if golden roses, watching Margaery comfort Tommen while Loras is offering his condolences. She leaves the place without a look at Loras, walks into Pycelle, but avoids him. Cersei wants to be left alone, but then she walks into Lancel Lannister. She hardly recognizes him. Her uncle Kevan Lannister follows and apologizes for his son’s ragged looks and informs her that he’s joined the Sparrows. Later on, Cersei sees Lancel again who asks for her forgiveness for sleeping with her and tells her that he’s a changed man now. Lancel also discusses the nasty business with Robert’s “hunting accident”, but Cersei pretends she doesn’t know what he is talking about.

Pentos
Characters: Tyrion, Varys, and Illyrio
Tyrion arrives in Pentos in the crate, drinks 8 cups of wine, and then vomits on Illyrio’s expensive carpet. Varys tells him that he and Illyrio have bet on the wrong Targaryen, but Tyrion is not interested in the Game of Thrones anymore. Tyrion and Varys enter Illyrio's palace to change their clothes. Later on, Tyrion and Varys speak outside on the balcony where Varys urges him to join him on his journey to Meereen. "I believe men of talent have a part to play in The War to Come," Varys says. “I will never sit on the Iron Throne," Tyrion says. “You could help another climb those steps and take that seat," Varys says. “A drunken dwarf will never be a savior of the Seven Kingdoms,” Tyrion says. “You have your father’s instincts for politics and you have compassion,” Varys says. “Compassion? I killed my lover with my bare hands and I shot my own father with a crossbow,” Tyrion says. “I never said you were perfect,” Varys says. “What is it you want, exactly?” Tyrion says. “Peace, prosperity, A land where the powerful do not prey on the powerless. The seven kingdoms needs a ruler loved by millions with a powerful army and the right family name,” Varys says. Tyrion tells Varys, “Good lucking finding him.” Varys answers “Who said anything about him?” Tyrion agrees to join Varys on his journey to Dany as long as he can keep drinking.

The Sons of the Harpy have become a problem and Dany orders the Unsullied to patrol the streets. Daario and Hizdahr return to Meereen. Dany, Daario, Missandei, Barristan, and Grey Worm are in council room of the Meereen pyramid. Daario tells Dany that the other cities are just waiting for the slightest weakness she shows and are eager to attack. She needs to use her dragons, since a dragon queen without dragons is no queen at all. Dany is afraid she can’t control her dragons and doesn’t want another child to due, but she seeks out the dragons in the catacombs. When Dany arrives, her dragons are not happy to see her. They have grown huge and angry and they attack Dany. All that keeps them from eating her are the chains. Dany, scared and horrified, escapes the catacombs and realizes that she has lost control of them completely.

The Wall
Characters: Jon, Stannis, Melisandre, Davos, and Mance
At the Wall there's a scene between Jon and Stannis walking on top of the Wall with Melisandre and Davos following close behind. Stannis reminds Jon that the man who put a dagger into Robb’s heart is now ruling over Winterfell and asks if Jon doesn’t want to avenge his brother. Jon informs him that he wants a great many things but his loyalty belongs to the Watch. Stannis tells Jon that many love him (Jon), and some don’t, and then goes on that he doesn't want to kill the Wildlings, he needs men to fight Roose Bolton after all. He wants them to kneel to him. He wants their king Mance to kneel to him. He gives Jon until nightfall to convince Mance to kneel. Jon hurries off to Mance and tries to convince him. Jon meets with Mance attempts to negotiate by saying, “For the first time in history, Thenns and Hornfoots, the Ice River Clans, even the Giants, a life’s work uniting them. You didn’t do it for power; you didn’t do it for glory…you brought them together to save them because none of them will survive the winter not if they’re north of the wall. When Missandei leaves, Dany breaks down, distraught over what she’s just done. A sound from outside cuts short her grief. She goes outside to check its source. The balcony appears to be empty – until a gust of wind blasts her from above. Drogon is perched atop the pyramid where the harpy once stood. She calls his name, beckons him to come. Warily he scuttles down the side of the pyramid, a few feet at a time. When he reaches the edge of the balcony overhang, she holds out her hand to him. -- Arya will arrive in Braavos, knock on the doors of the House of Black and White and will assume her fish seller girl persona. There is a scene where she looks contemplatively at Needle.

-- A series of tweets by the actors hints that Lhara, Meryn Trant and Arya might be interacting next season (Most likely in 5.09)

-- Mark Gatiss (Tycho Nestoris) confirmed that he won't be appearing at the Wall this season.

-- Mace Tyrell will arrive with Meryn Trant and some Lannister Guards to negotiate the crown's debt with Tycho Nestoris, the Iron Bank representative that Stannis met with in Season 4

-- Arya and the Braavosi captain (Ternesio Terys) in a row boat in front of a stony city

*-- Arya appears to be examining the coin Jaqen H'ghar gave her

Dorne:

-- Jaime and Bronn will get into a skirmish with Dornish guards at a beach and they will get into a fight with the Sand Snakes.

-- According to Making Game of Thrones there will be at least one scene involving a scorpion and a scene of a dragon burning carcasses in a grassy area. The scene with the scorpion also involves Nymeria whipping a barrel to reveal someone buried up to his head in sand, with scorpions around him. Ellaria, Tyene and Obara watch on.

-- Ellaria will at some point be confronted by people with spears and will have a confrontation with Areo Hotah.

*-- Dorne will appear in the opening credits as "Dorne" rather than "Sunspear"

Meereen:

-- Missandei will kiss a potentially wounded/dead Grey Worm.

-- Jorah will be fighting inside Daznak's Pit in front of the large crowd.

-- Masked people (potentially Sons of the Harpy) will appear marching through the streets and will later confront Dany, Missandei, Jorah, Daario and the Unsullied in Daznak's pit.

-- Rhaegal breaths fire at someone.

-- The statue of the Harpy will be torn down from the pyramid.

*-- Dany will make a speech about Breaking the Wheel. Her Quote is as follows: "Lannister, Baratheon, Stark, Tyrell. they're all just spokes on a wheel. This one's on top and then that one's on top and on and on it spins, crushing those on the ground...I'm not going to stop the wheel, I'm going to break the wheel.

*-- One of Dany's dragons will severely burn something in an upclose shot

*-- Dany sleeps with Daario and says that she is not a butcher, Daario answers that a leader is either a butcher or they are meat

*-- Dany attempts to reach for a much larger Drogon, but he flies over her to a panorama of Meereen

*-- Hizdahr will make a proposal to Dany in the throne room in front of her advisers

*-- Sons of the Harpy will go on a rampage through the streets of Meereen

Pentos and Volantis:

-- Tyrion wakes up to Varys opening his crate and revealing their new location at Illyrio's Mansion.

-- Tyrion will be having a conversation with Varys in which Varys will explain to him that he should help Dany take the Iron Throne.

*-- Tyrion and Varys will explore a market and be walking along the Long Bridge of Volantis.

Slaver's Bay:

-- Jorah will be sold to the slaver Yezzan by Malko. Tyrion, in an attempt to stay with Jorah, will amuse the crowd until Yezzan buys him as well.

The Vale:

-- Littlefinger and Sansa will be traveling through the Vale. Littlefinger will tell her to take revenge.

-- The Knights of the Vale are shown riding through the Vale. Sansa and Littlefinger will be riding in the carriage.

Riverlands:

-- Brienne and Pod will be riding by an inn (which looks a lot like the Inn at the Crossroads).

*-- Brienne and Pod appear to be in a snow storm somewhere (most likely the Riverlands)

*-- Brienne saves Pod from an unknown rider (perhaps knights of the Vale that Littlefinger has sent after them)

*-- Brienne tells Pod, "I don't want anyone following me. I'm not a leader. All I ever wanted was to fight for a lord I believed in. All the good lords are dead and the rest are monsters."

Other potentially spoilery information:

- The Hollywood Reporter has announced that all actors' contracts have been renegotiated for pay raises and potential season 7 appearances. That does not mean however, that everyone will live to see season 7. The top-ranked actors are said to be Harington (Jon), Dinklage (Tyrion), Headey (Cersei), Clarke (Daenerys) and Coster-Waldau (Lannister), followed by 'mid-carder' Dormer (Margaery), Turner (Sansa) and Williams (Arya). This most likely means that these characters will get the bulk of season 5-7 material. No word on season 8.

- Supposedly, there is a big fight scene that was moved from Iceland to Northern Ireland. No confirmation yet on which factions are involved or whether it has been filmed yet.

- UNCONFIRMED: A user on reddit who very accurately and in detail predicted the scenes with the Night's Watch mutineers at Craster's Keep last year has posted that next season will include a scene in which White Walkers walk off a cliff only to be resurrected by the Night's King. This could potentially be Hardhome. However, there has been no official confirmation of any of this happening from people tied to the production of GoT, so take it with a grain of salt, please.

- Sophie Turner has stated in an interview that she filmed a traumatic scene that made everyone on set feel really uncomfortable, potentially hinting at the inclusion of Sansa's controversial TWOW chapter in season 5. Please take this with a grain of salt, as Sophie is not the most reliable narrator.

--According to Kit Harrington, he filmed a partial scene which took a month to shoot. (Now confirmed to be Hardhome)

- Episodes 4.09 and 4.10 aired together in select IMAX theaters across the US, followed by an exclusive trailer, starting on January 29. This is when the first trailer was leaked to the internet.

-- The trailer seems to confirm or at least give more credence to both the reddit poster's spoilers mentioned above and the script that was supposedly leaked on Facebook back in August of 2014. The following link contains major spoilers. Proceed at your own risk:

https://www.facebook.com/814624378577731

*-- While Entertainment Weekly released four magazine covers of Dany, Jon, Arya, and Tyrion for the upcoming season, also included is that Season 5 will contain three weddings.

*-- An unnamed cast member is interviewed after just filming their death scene, after “several years” of involvement with the show. This character has not yet died in the books. The actor was surprised upon learning of the character’s death and limited screen time, as he/she has read the books and was expecting to have more material than usual to film this year.

*-- Rory McCann will not appear in Season 5.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Is the extended Greyjoy family in?

A: We don't know for sure. However, Entertainment Weekly, which usually gives reliable news, has announced that the Greyjoy storyline from book 4 and 5 will not feature as such.

Q: Are the Griffs in?

A: We don't know yet.

Q: Are the Manderly's in?

A: We don't know yet.

Q: Are Arianne and Quentyn in?

A: They have not been cast yet and since casting for Dorne seems to be finished otherwise, most likely not.

Q: Is Lady Stoneheart in?

A: As of yet, there is no hard evidence that she will be. There was a supposed casting link on IMDB, but it was presumed fake and was removed after Michelle Fairley's publicist turned the rumors down. According to the newest issue of Entertainment Weekly, Lady Stoneheart will not appear in Season 5.

Q: Will Bran & Co. be in?

A: David Benioff has confirmed that Bran & Co. will not be in season 5. This clashes with information from the CV of Leaf's actress, which states that she will be in episode 5.01. It is possible that scenes were shot in season 4 that have been moved to 5.01, but it is now official that no new material was shot for Bran.

Q: Will The Three-Eyed Raven be in?

A: Struan Rodgers has not been confirmed as returning, but Leaf has. For more information, please see "Will Bran & Co. be in?" above.

Q: Will Illyrio be in?

A: Roger Allam has not been confirmed as returning yet, but there have been boxes reading "Illyrio's manse" in front of Villa Sherezade. Also, one of the producers mentioned "Ellario's" in the recently released "A Day in the Life" featurette. This most likely refers to Illyrio's manse.

Q: Will Rickon and Osha be in?

A: No reliable information yet.

Q: Will there be spoilers from TWoW?

A: Most likely, as some characters have already gone through all their published material. Liam Cunningham (Davos) recently confirmed in an interview that some characters (possibly Davos and his surrounding characters Stannis, Melisandre and Co.) will be surpassing their book material.

There's a lot we don't know about this plot, so in some sense it's "wait and see", but there are a ton of ways this whole plotline could be massively illogical, so I approach it with considerable trepidation (particularly as the show's track record with Sansa's plot has been fairly bad).

I'm really interested to see Brienne in the snow. Whether she's in the North or not (still no light shed on what she's up to), looks like we'll finally be seeing the weather change, which a lot of people were wondering about.

I am not a fan of the move but recognize it might be fait accompli at this point. No way they can simply eliminate Catelyn Stark and send Jaime Lannister to Dorne without doing serious damage to the overall structure of the story.

Until we know what the overall structure of the story is (i.e. read TWOW and ADOS), I don't think we can make statements like that. We simply don't know what is 'serious damage' vs. 'minor to mid-size change that still leads to the end point.' If, in the books, Jaime has an extended plot with LSH, but makes it out alive and back to Kings Landing to deal with the faith/Tyrells/Dany/whatever and in the show Jaime has an extended plot in Dorne but makes it out alive and back to Kings Landing to deal with the faith/Tyrells/Dany/whatever, has that much really changed? Particularly if book-Jaime doesn't interact with other major plotlines during his LSH time and show-Jaime is taking the place of other characters from the books (Balon Swann maybe).

Same goes for Sansa in Winterfell (again, I was wrong). If in the books, she ends up in Winterfell in the aftermath of the battle there, and in the show is in Winterfell prior to and during the battle there and is still there for the aftermath. Has that much really changed? If she becomes fArya, then yes, because she's going to go through some serious trauma that she otherwise wouldn't. But otherwise, is it really that different than Jaime getting to Kings Landing before the purple wedding? Of course, if Sansa doesn't get to Winterfell in the books until the very end of book seven, if ever, then yeah, this is a much larger change. But we simply don't have the book context to know.

I am pretty convinced that the two POVs of the battle map tables that we see are of different tables. We got that nice one of Stannis in front of his map in the tent in this new trailer and right before it we see the hands from the first trailer touch a table with two Bolton figures next to it. It looks like it would be Stannis from watching the trailer but going frame by frame that first quick shot seems to be from the person in the first trailer. I am guessing it is either Roose/Ramsey or Asha Greyjoy. It also is more clear to me now that the weird looking sigils from the first trailer map are of Stannis' fiery heart.

alcasinoryale I was going to recommend you for this job!

BUMP!

BTW could you add the Portia Smith info from Casting Call Pro to the OP? http://www.castingcallpro.com/uk/tvshow_view.php?uid=1022

It was suggested to me in the WOTW comments that her strange character name "Smith/Brothel Goddess" could only mean she was in a brothel which featured prostitutes as different aspects of the Seven. While first I suggested she'd be a Volantene prostitute given she appears in 503, this seems far more likely to occur in a KL location that the Sparrows would want to shut down, for using the gods names in vain in particular is my guess.

After watching the second trailer and seeing LF and Darth Sansa in the North/Winterfell, its possible that LF might pull a Manderly during the Battle of Ice. What I'm wondering is if LF times it just right and beats Stannis as well, which might be a possible spoiler to Winds. I can't see Stannis dying, but perhaps, retreating to the Nightfort.

Haha, I figured. And I just added her to the OP. Yeah I'm assuming she is in KL based on the character. I'm also wondering who that strange woman was in the trailer who was being worshipped or something by a crowd reaching out their hands to her. I feel like it could have been the Waif, but it looks like Volantis.

Someone in Volantis given the tattoos on the slaves' right cheekbones.

BTW Reece Noi's (Keyr) IMDB info's been updated http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0634139/?ref_=tt_cl_t7and it has him as appearing in 501, 502 and 504. Now this could be a fan-edit of course but it does seem to correspond with my theory that Keyr, being the most radically anti-slaver on her counsel at the beginning of s5, kills the Son of the Harpy that Dany captures after she decides to spare him (on Barry's advice via the facebook summary) and Dany is forced to have him killed, a la Rickard Karstark.

Hence the big riot scene here. https://gfycat.com/AnxiousNaiveGuillemot
