Varys a Blackfyre?

Varys says his "junk" was cut off for some magic ritual. But almost every thing about the man is a lie. Isn't more likley that Varys is a Blackfyre? The last Blackfyre in the male line? This would mean Varys sister who was sold to a pleasure house then eventually married Illyrio is carrying on the Blackfyre name threw the female line with Aegon.

If this is true.

Can we speculate how this came to be? Were the 9 penny kings so upset at the loss of the last attempt to invade Westeros they punished the Blackfyres by castrating Varys and selling his sister to a pleasure house? To finally be done with the nonsense of the Blackfyre Rebellions?

Or did the leaders of the free Cities do the deed. Or the IT it self.

Sorry if this has been done before. And it prob has

It's been done many, many times. My problem with Varys being the Blackfyre and not Illyrio is Illyrio's interest in the affair. His motivation makes a lot more sense if he's the Blackfyre. Varys on the other hand could be Illyrio's agent. But Varys surely has the blood of the dragon in him. I just don't know what color it is. That's why the Brightfyre theory is so compelling...

My guess is that Varys is from the Brightflame line and Illryio's wife is a Blackfyre (making his son fAegon a Blackfyre)

But his junk being cut off does not need to be a lie, magic often need King's Blood and it makes it even more probable that he is a Brightflame/Blackfyre if he was castrated for a magic ceremony.

Maybe Varys was a Faceless Man acolyte at one point (the Kindly Man implies that castration is part of their induction process)

Or maybe he voluntarily offered his junk to the Faceless Men to put a hit on someone (my crackpot is that Steffon Baratheon's real mission in Essos was to hunt Blackfyres, and he was going to tell Aerys that he found Varys and Serra but his ship got sunk by a FM)

Or maybe he was sold into slavery to a maker of Unsullied. Their manhoods are burn in the Altar of the Goddess, after all, so that could've been the voice Varys heard

This doesn't sound that crackpotish at all, but I would say "look for", instead of "hunt". A female BF is not as dangerous as a guy, or so they would assume. Or, even if he didn't actually look for them, he found out about them.

Isn't that around the time when Aerys "heard" about this Varys guy?

Agreed. And yeah, I think it was around this time. In fact, I think Steffon's death might've increased Aerys' loneliness and paranoia, to the point of calling Varys

I think Illyrio i sa better candidate for a Blackfyre. Several clues hint at it:
The statue of a young Illyrio which reminds Tyrion of Aegon IV.
Him saying "...in the female line...".
The cherries which he points out are "Black Cherries".

I think Varys (and Serra) could be decended from Aerion Brightflame which spent some of his exile in Lys.

Varys has never lied. This is the big problem with your assumption. What he does is tell the truth but vaguely, Like when Ned was trying to find out who killed Jon Arryn, varys told ned that Jon's killer owed everything he was to the former hand. Ned assumes it was Ser Hugh of the Vale, where in reality it was Littlefinger who did the deed.

An interesting crackpot came to mind today.

Aegon VI = not a Targaryen and not a Blackfyre. What does this mean for Varys and Illyrio? They could still both be Blackfyres, but I'm not sure where their plot began.

My observation stemmed from noticing Varys begins with V and Illyrio begins with I, put those initials together and you get VI. Aegon VI, which I don’t think was a coincidence and a subtle hint at their intentions. As someone else pointed out that could also be IV: Aegon IV from which the Blackfyre line is descended. In my mind the name Daemon Blackfyre IV came to mind, so I investigated the Blackfyre line to see if there even was a Daemon IV. Daemon (who would have been the fourth) was slain by Maelys and his link to Daemon Blackfyre I was unknown.

Now if you look at the Blackfyre line Maelys and Daemon, the linear link to Daemon I is unknown. However, with Maelys that isn’t specifically noted in his biography. A line about not knowing his exact link to Daemon I was omitted, but for “Daemon” it wasn’t. My theory is this: “Daemon” was not a Blackfyre at all, but an early attempt by Illyrio to instill a groomed Blackfyre as the head of the Golden Company. The Aegon plot developed based off of a plot to take over the Golden Company.

F/Aegon could be a descendent of this F/Daemon. When the real Aegon’s head was smashed beyond recognition Varys and Illyrio seized an opportunity, taking the entire kingdom of Westerns would give them much more power than just taking the Golden Company.

This is a little off topic but i always wondered how Varys and Illyrio found out about each other. My random theory is that varys was doing his thing in Pentos, breaking in and stealing info and whatever else, and came across some "secret" while "investigating" Illyrio mance(or where ever he was living). And that "secret" has bound them since. For better or worse. But I have nothing of substance to base that on lol

Perhaps the Tattered Prince will have something to say about it.
