Deadpool v SkullpoopL: Dawn of Spoilers

X1 and 2 were great films. X3:LS was really bad, Origins was even worse, First Class I felt was great, the Wolverine I actually pretty liked, but it should have been so much better and DoFP is great (and not just for that one QS scene everyone wanks over) it's possibly one of the best time travel films I've ever seen.

I'll give you X2... but the first one, Last stand, & Wolverine origins were all terrible...

What do consider terrible about the first one? My only real gripe was the version of Rogue they gave us. Storm had the infamously cheesy line after frying Toad, but that was pretty minor. C'mon man Wovie vs Sabertooth on top of the Statue of Liberty......that was epic!

Stewart and McKellen both rocked that shit too.

I don't get Sabertooth. What a disappointing stalker for Wolverine to be continually saddled with! Really a drag. And did we get the weak Rogue because they didn't own the rights to Ms. Marvel powers???? The first movie got specific with that device, so it sort of missed the opportunity to really introduce the full awesomeness of the concepts, which First Class did a better job of.

I might get some hate from this, but I don't actually mind Last Stand as a movie in its own right.

Yeah, killing Scott off-screen is a travesty. But besides that, the main problem with it is that most of the characters die and it very nearly killed off the entire franchise for good. So it's more the impact it has on potential future movies that is the problem, rather than the actual movie itself. The battles and set-pieces were all pretty awesome. As was wolvie having to kill off Jean at the end. :crying:

The characterisation is all over the shop. The worst thing about it was the plot, they chose to cram two plots into the film, giving neither enough time to matter. The first was 'the cure' yawn who gives a shit seen it all before. The second ios the Dark Pheonix saga, is one of the most beloved comic book storylines of all time, and the totally fucked it in the arse. You say you cared about the ending? It was utterly soulless.

Then I guess you guys are comparing it to what might have been and finding it lacking - which is fair enough.

But as someone who never read the comics, I have no clue what it could have been and found what was presented enjoyable enough. We'd had three movies in which Wolverine's feelings for Jean had been built up and made abundantly clear - so for me, it was effective when he was forced to kill the girl he loves.

I don't doubt that it would have been done better in the comics. But what I saw I found very entertaining (it's my first and only introduction to the "Dark Phoenix", after all - and what I saw I enjoyed).

Couple of Deadpool things, but scant information:

They've wrapped http://screenrant.com/deadpool-movie-filming-ryan-reynolds-finishes/

Collosus fights Deadpool (also includes a crappy accross a road video of part of it.) http://screenrant.com/deadpool-colossus-andre-tricoteux-motion-capture/

And Hugh Jackman is being cagey about a cameo, and his role in Apocalypse for that matter. http://screenrant.com/hugh-jackman-deadpool-xmen-wolverine-retirement/

Not really sure where to stick this one: Gambit is set to be directed by Rise of the Planet of the Apes Rupert Wyatt. I didn't fully realise he was getting his own film.

More images, couldn't find any sauce though. http://imgur.com/gallery/qmsR9Was slightly surprised Negasonic has a yellow and black outfit (it has no obvious x insignia though, something on the shoulder but it's not really visible.) I'm hoping the picture of Ryan looking as pretty as ever is pre-Weapon X.

And Skrein has been saying that Blade Runner was a reference. Which seems a little weird. http://www.wired.com/2015/07/comic-con-deadpool-blade-runner/
