Weapons Against the Others?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Recommended Posts
So, reading a GoT again, I reached the Tyrion POV Chapter where they're on their way to The Wall. Tyrion snuggles up in Benjen's old bear fur and starts reading about the properties of dragons.
He remembers when he first went to King's Landing and found the dragon skeletons. He describes them as black and beautiful. Polished ebony. The color is contributed to the high iron content of dragon bone. It is said that Dragon bone bows can send an arrow flying farther than any normal wood. (Although I wonder if the golden heart trees don't have some of the same properties).
I also remember Old Nan saying that the Others hated iron and warmth. We already know Obsidian can kill an Other and fire can kill a wight, but what else is there? Is dragon steel really dragon bone? It is said to be more flexible than steel.
Then I remembered reading in TWOIAF about the Quohoriks (spelling)? about how they jealousy guarded their methods of working with metal. They did blood sacrifices with babies to try to give their metal the same properties as that of the Freehold. This was found out I believe by a Maester named Pol who was publicly whipped and finally exile with his hand cut off accused of stealing a Valyrian Steel sword.
So, the Others don't like fire or obsidian said to be frozen fire or iron (I'm not sure why) is it possible that the Others even with their Ice Magic cannot make a weapon that can defeat these weapons? How could one sword defeat all of them?
Anyway, just thoughts meandering around in my brain and wondered if anyone else had any theories on this.
I think any Valyrian sword can become lightbringer aka a sword of fire provided the right ritual or spell is performed, hence why you don't need to fight all of them with just one, otherwise like you said there is no point aside it being a rallying cry for the human faction.
