Tyrion as a dragon rider?

I know there's theories out there about Tyrion being one of the heads of the dragon but I still wanted to point out my own excerpts that might support such theories and indicate that maybe he will be a dragon rider in the future.

Tyrion had a morbid fascination with dragons. When he had first come to King's landing for his sister's wedding to Robert Baratheon, he had made it a point to seek out the dragon skulls that had hung on the walls of Targaryen's throne room.

They liked the fire, he SENSED.

When he had moved away, Tyrion could have sworn that the beast's empty eye sockets had watched him go.

Tyrion stood in that dark cellar for a long time...trying to grasp the size of the living animal, to IMAGINE how it must have looked when it spread its great black wings and swept across the skies, breathing fires.

"I used to DREAM of having a dragon of my own."

"I used to start fires in the bowels of Casterly Rock and stare at the flames for hours...Sometimes I would imagine my father burning. At other times my sister."

Just these excerpts have led me to believe the possibility of Tyrion being a Targaryen and hence a dragon rider are very feasible.

What do you guys think?

I would love to see this happen.

Tyrion will ride Viserion, it is known.

I would love for Tyrion to become a dragon rider. It would be awesome for him to feel such physical power after all the mocking he has endured his whole life just for being a dwarf. The tyrion as the son of aerys theory is win win for me, if it is true he is possibly Jon snows uncle and daenerys brother and it would be a bit of revenge for tywins disdainful treatment of tyrion. If tywin is truly his father then it would be great for tyrion to achieve such an impressive feat as being a dragon rider, thus out performing any expectations tywin would ever believe tyrion capable of!

I don't think Tyrion will become a dragon rider, but he definitely will help the next dragon riders understand how to tame the dragons

I agree. He'll be an advisor to Dany or whatever, and tell her all the secrets about the Westerosi lords and how to subdue them. Their weaknesses and all that. MAybe even their histories, which she seems to be interested in, especially her own. He knows all that stuff.

But to make him a dragon rider...seems to fairy tale-ish to me. I want him to survive. He's one of my favs. But to be a dragon rider...I don't know...it just doesn't fit.

The only thing that gives me pause about Tyrion being a Targ or a dragonrider is Moqorro's vision of him as "a small man" surrounded by a bunch of dragons, even some false ones.

Moq has been pretty spot on with most of his predictions so far, so why would he see Tyrion as a man if he is on the same level as Aemon, Dany, fAegon and the others?

"Dragons. ... Dragons old and young, true and false, bright and dark. And you. A small man with a big shadow, snarling in the midst of all."

Seems ambiguous to me. He says he sees dragons, and then starts listing dragons. Where does this list end? It might end before "And you", or after it. "And you" is followed by a full stop; before he goes on to describe Tyrion as a "small man". Of course, Tyrion can be both a man and a dragon.

I think Tyrion will be a dragonrider and I hope he's a secret targ but idk if there's anybody who could reveal this!! So maybe we'll just be debating his parentage forever because i don't see a big reveal happening for him.

I have been wondering if many of these questions can be answered in two books. Maybe with the help of Bran "seeing" these events happen, we'll get some "back in time" proof. Like the Mad King going after Tywin's honey and Lyanna getting all Romeo and Juliet on Rhaegar?

Or...we could be arguing theories for eternity. Sometimes open ended stories leave more room for discussion and deeper thought. At the same time...the show just flat out tends to say it like it is. Like with the whole poisoning of Joff and all that type of stuff. They just came out and said it. We have two possible mediums coming out that could give us the answers we desire.
