Euron's Black Eye
One on one real war combat is what it's all about. Tourneys and training aside, real weapons and real glory should come from battle. We have lots of candidates, the following come to mind straight away: 1) Prince Lewyn Martell vs. Sir Lynn Corbray.Corbray wins this one with Lady Forlorn albeit Martell is said to be wounded. 2) Prince Rheagar Targaryen vs. Lord Robert Baratheon.Epic battle of sword against warhammer with immense consequences. 3) Prince Oberyn Martell vs. The Mountain. This one was close and badass on account of Oberyn mad fighting skills. 4) Sir Barristan the Bold vs. Maegor The MonstrousWe don't have much info on this combat on Stepstones, but young Barristan Selmy going against the last Blackfyre must have been very heroic. 5) Thoros of Myr charging over walls of Pyke - it's not a one on one combat but it's pretty badass, I mean guy had a flaming sword. 6) Sir Arthur Dayne vs. Ned Stark (and Howland Reed) - if that ever happened. Add any combat you think badass enough to mention.
Mikkel
I would nominate Donal Noye vs Mag the Mighty, with both slaying each other, and both (in a way) fighting for the survival of their people. Not sure it gets much more epic than that. If we're talking strictly humans, I'm voting for Bob 'Badass' Baratheon vs Rhaegar, not just for the ferocity of the fight itself, but for its difficult-to-overestimate importance to the future of Westeros. Make Shadowbabies Not War
As with the battle thread, I'm going with Royce vs the Other. Although the above mentioned Noye vs Mag fight is a good shout.
lyannaisalive
My thoughts (excluding the ones already mentioned1.Brienne vs The Hound2. Jon Snow vs halfhandAnd both were well done in the show as well

Olligarchy
I'm guessing the battle that Daemon Blackfyre and Gwayne Corbray fought at Redgrass Field must've been damned epic.
Tall Tyrion Lannister!
My thoughts (excluding the ones already mentioned1.Brienne vs The Hound2. Jon Snow vs halfhandAnd both were well done in the show as wellwhen did The Hound fight Brienne in the book? anyway I always really liked Dondarrian vs The Hound. but as far as bad assnes goes, either the fight at the ruby ford or Noye taking on a giant. Mikkel
Pretty sure Brienne never fought the Hound. Or if she did, I need a re-read. Well, I do anyway, but more urgently than I thought in that case.

The Witch King of Asshai
Recent history, probably Donal v Mag or the duel on the trident. If time isn't a barrier, then I'd nominate Gwayne Corbray v Daemon Blackfyre, Bloodraven v Bitterstell and going really far back, Artys Arryn v Robar Royce, all of these were between badass individuals, in hugely dramatic settings and had a massive impact on Westerosi history. Fitzochris01
Brienne did not fight the Hound is the novels. That was one of the many absurd deviations taken by the TV show.
lyannaisalive
Brienne did not fight the Hound is the novels. That was one of the many absurd deviations taken by the TV show.As i said, i am well aware of that point. But it was still awesome. But it certainly was not an absurd thing to do in the show. it allowed them to cut out Brienne searching for the Hound only to discover it was never him and allowed for an awesome fight scene

BaratheonBro
I would pay in blood to see or read about the fight between Robert and Rhaegar and the showdown at TOJ.Another duel I like is the one between Oberyn and Gregor, it is perfectly performed and shows that speed can beat brutal strength, and also that thinking to high of yourself can kill you. I would like to see more of Jaime's skills in his youth, holding his own against The Smiling Knight.

Fitzochris01
Why would you consider that absurd if you dont mind me asking? I consider it absurd because it felt forced and it was too much of a deviation from the books. I think that scene, along with Bran ending up at Craster's Keep and Asha's (or, FFS, Yara's) attempted rescue of Theon, are real low points for the show.
