Free Northman Reborn
I really enjoyed the world of Midkemia. I remember the thrill of discovering Novindus and the dynamics of the Kingdom-Great Kesh relationship. But a lot of that excitement could have been because I was in my early teens at the time. Arataniello
I have always had a hankering for some of the world's in Jack Vance's works. Cadwal in particular.
GSP
Good call with Midkemia. Its been a while but I do recall that being a really well fleshed out backdrop. I'll go with the oh so obvious Westeros, but also, presently being fully engrossed in Elder Scrolls Online got to shout out Tamriel. For Sci Fi may I throw out the Rifts Megaverse as a wicked stomping grounds.
polishgenius
Favourite fantasy worlds: Bas-Lag, Ararat (from Thunderer/Gears of the City). And yeah, I have fond memories of exploring Midkemia, probably my favourite of the classic medieval fantasy worlds. Also though it started out as a comedy sketch Discworld developed into a rather interesting place as it went along. Sci-fi: The Culture is the one I'd most like to live in, but in terms of the fascination of the place, gotta go with the Revelation Space universe. Trevelyan
For fantasy, I'll go with Thedas (also known as The Dragon Age Setting). I love Dragon Age and this is probably the only fictional universe I'd want to live in. As for Sci-Fi, I'd probably say the Galaxy Far, Far Away from Star Wars. Admittedly, I'm not a huge fan of the movies, not even the original trilogy, but there is some stuff in the expanded universe that I really love. Typhoon Swell
Star Wars is a given. Mass Effect's universe is really really cool.

Matrim Fox Cauthon
* Avatar the Last Airbender * Earthsea * Wheel of Time The amazing thing about the above settings is the clear sense of a living society and culture, including "magic" being applied towards economic and quality-of-life ends.
