Casting, News, and Speculation while waiting on Season 5 (show and book spoilers)

Speculating about Alayne's role this year - Not sure if we can mention the newer spoilers - But what are we to make of some comments about brutal scenes of Iwan and Sophie this year? Sophie did say a six out of ten, and she has her own entourage. I don't think we are going to see a consummation of this possible matrimony, even if they do get married.

I'm wondering if Margery and Tommen's "consummation" will affect her arrest and trial, since the High Sparrow makes such a big deal in the books about her no longer having her maidenhead.

Also, this is probably me over-worrying, but I fear for Shireen even more after reading about

her scene with Stannis. The show likes to give extra emotional weight to relationships before brutally killing them off. I think some people have speculated this may not bode well for Stannis but I am even more worried for Shireen. I'm in the group of nervous nellies that wasn't so excited by Melisandre telling Selyse that the Lord of Light needs Shireen. And that shot of Selyse in the snow totally read time at first glance as someone who has been thrown down onto the ground - perhaps someone angry at what she is doing to Shireen?

I'm not sure if this has already been posted but a redditor, claiming to have watched the first four episodes, did a tell-all AMA two days ago:

DELETED

Obviously, if true, MAJOR SPOILERS.

EDIT: Pardon me. 'Fraid I don't totally know the rules (apparently :/). PM me if you're curious, I suppose.

Sophie did literally say that she starts out badass and then things go downhill at some point. My guess is the boltons promise to treat Sansa well to LF then LF leaves and they're all lol jk

:( Poor Sansa. I think this traumatizing scene is the Boltons turning on her in a really (or relatively) brutal way (something literally anyone could have seen coming except LF for some reason).

Maybe a random giant (the show Wun Wun) will knock down Selyse and grab Shireen. Selyse freaks out but show!Wun Wun only wanted to take a closer look at the little princess (like Grawp and Hermione in that one scene) and Shireen giggles and makes a new friend

Or, you know, Shireen gets horribly burned in a pyre as her mother watches

I hope they don't do that to Shireen, but it is kind of hinted at and the books suggest something like that could happen.

However Show Melisandre appears to be in the tend with Stannis, so she could be riding south with him which would mean there's nobody at the wall to do the sacrificing.

Maybe she just unknowingly eats Frey Pie.

I wonder what Northern Lords will think of Sansa. Will they think she is fake since she has no wolf? Will they think she has been brainwashed like Reek to turned on her family and side with the Boltons/Lannisters/Freys? I could see Greatjon/Wyman/Whatever saying that it might be Sansa but they believe she's been brainwashed into supporting the Boltons. (She's playing the game too well for her own protection from Bolton reprisals.) Thus, they still need Davos to go find Rickon.

I love your imaginative leaps Admiral. I very rarely agree with you and I don't now but they are always good to read.

(I'm honestly not taking the piss)

Why was this closed again? Really frustrating.

I'm afraid we have no extra Northern lords..or then a few extras who have max. 1 line. The northern lords probably just think that she's a weak girl who's too afraid to actually do anything.

My diabolical ''trolling'' must have closed it like every other thread. I haven't posted today but I must have made other accounts and trolled on them. I'm sure iheartseverus and Adancewithcats will have some reasonable reasoning as to why I'm to blame.

Which is actually a bit over the top in the books too. What does Marg not being a virgin anymore even prove? That house Tyrell lied to Tywin/the crown about that and nothing more. Marg was married to Renly before after all, so slut-shaming is out, just proves that the Tyrells are lying liars that lie. Now that's special. Not. The adultery charge (during her marriages to Joff/Tommen) is way more important for the trail IMHO.

So, we've recently heard a lot of good about Ep. 4; Sue says (in the comments of her review) it was her favourite episode of 1 - 4, she and other articles said the fight against the Sons of the Harpy is VERY intense and shocking (and cliffhanger-y), and this episode will include the much praised Stannis/Shireen scene.

Sounds like a quite emotional episode, if it's going to be as good as it seems... Will then even Olly haters begin to give Dave Hill credit for his writing/ideas? :P

About the rumored Stannis & Shireen scene, it's true that this could mean they won't see each other again before either of them dies but I still think that someone would be Stannis and much more likely in early season 6 than in season 5. Pretty sure Shireen as Stannis heir will be Queen at some point (what with Stannis harping on that before going into battle in the books).

The sons of harpy cliffhanger will be Barry riding Drogon and conquering Westeros. Nahhhh but i think it will be Hizdahr giving his marriage proposal to Dany. But Barry will die unfortunately.

That Sophie interview where she says shes a 'prisoner'. Seems like to me more and more evidence is building up towards the Ramsay and Sansa marriage. And that they arrive in Winterfell before episode 4. which is a real bummer imo. I was hoping to get more Reek scenes before Sansa got there. But Seriously, who TF goes from the Vale to Winterfell and then to KL. :bang:

Sue from WOTW mentioned a 'suicide mission with the funny sidekick' or something. This has to be Jaime and Bronn going to Dorne. Cersei must send him there hoping he wont come back....which is really strange. Can't say I'm surprised about the reception to the Sandsnakes so far. I've said from the start it was a mistake to make them the focus of the Dorne storyline. And with no one character wanting 'peace' it will be very cringy i feel.

Just why do they remove one of Jons most badass lines? it's not even about the line, its supposed to represent the 'northern way' how similar jon and ned are. The block makes it clear this is going to be a beheading...

I'm starting to think...maybe Stannis takes his whole family with him on his journey south? i mean with all the chaos after Hardhome will there even be room for their presence at castle black?
