Who is Lady Lemore?

I'm sure this has been covered previously but I couldn't find a forum for it. Since I read ADWD I've been wondering who she could be. She says something along the line to young griff about he's not the only one that needs to hide his identity. And tyrion can't seem to figure out who she is either.

My guess is Lyanna Stark. But I have nothing to support that.

Any ideas?

Dayne. That chick Ned banged and jumped off a cliff, or jumped into a boat.

I believe this because the age and looks match, and who's really going to kill themselves over Ned?

I could see it being Ashara but why wouldn't tyrion notice her eyes. They were said to be purple and very noticeable at that.

Ashara should be in her early 30s. Lemore is almost 40.

Ashara was beautiful. Lemore is described as attractive.

Ashara had purple eyes and she was known because of them. No mention of such colour has been mentioned about Lemore.

And specially, JonCon knew Ashara personally, and he thinks of Lemore as Lemore in his mind and wants her gone.

So, no. She's not Ashara.

My favorite theory about her is that she's Wenda the White Fawn.

Sure, that's hardly a popular character and a lot of readers would scratch their heads at that reveal, but not every secret identity has to be flashy. Also, it makes sense

That does make sense. It just stood out to me that even Tyrion couldn't figure out who she was.

Does she know how to read and write? Do most outlaws know how? I can't remember.

If she does I think you could be spot on.

Ashara is Ned's age, which is 40. Attractive is beautiful, Tyrion is constantly think of her. They never mention her eye color, but they only accuratly describe Aegons when Tyrion is staring with a torch. Griff wants everybody off the ship, and golden company, and the kingsguard, he's not friendly, especially to women. And the way he thinks is for security, Alayne thinks of Petyr as her father.

But Ashara = Quaithe

It is known

Never heard, was Dayne magical or something?

This.

Maybe he's just staying in character? And since he's been addressing her as Lemore for a couple of years it's not totally impossible he start to think about her as Lemore.

I think Wenda is the most likely but could be Ashara I suppose. Any other names? I'm drawing a blank as to who else it could be.

I just really think Tyrion would have noticed the purple eyes, especially after busting Aegon.

Also, there are not any other missing women of the right age to match up. Tysha and Ashara are too young, Shierra Seastar is too old (and probably too dead at this point). There are more missing men in the series, but not that many missing ladies.

The only other option is for Lemore's true identity to be someone we've never met.

Ashara was beautiful. Lemore is described as attractive handsome but not beautiful. (But then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder...)

My personal theory is that she is Lemore Dayne. Pay close attention to Griff/Jon's name in his two ADwD chapters. In The Lost Lord, his inner-monologue refers to him as "Griff" until the last few paragraphs, after the agreement to invade Westeros is resolved and he ungloves his hand revealing the greyscale. Here, he is referred to as "Jon." In The Griffin Reborn, his inner-monologue refers to him as "Griff" again, until he and the Golden Company capture Griffin's Roost, where he is referred to as "Jon" again. There is importance in the names given in these chapters1; throughout both of these chapters, JonCon refers to Lemore as "Lemore," "Lady Lemore," but never as "Septa."

He knows who Ashara is, just as he knows who Lemore is.

(1Side note: During Tyrion VI during the cyvasse match, Tyrion's inner-monologue's reference to Aegon circles around "Aegon," to "prince," to "Young Griff" and back again; a clever way for GRRM to show that Tyrion is still trying to puzzle out if Aegon is legit or not.)

<snip>

And specially, JonCon knew Ashara personally, and he thinks of Lemore as Lemore in his mind and wants her gone.

Wants her gone? What give you that idea?
