Diplomacraft: The North Year 0001, Turn 4(Months 10-12)

Main map: http://s101.photobuc...astle2.jpg.html

Beyond the wall map: http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/Shyox/Westeros_-_Beyund_the_wall_1.jpg

-Brandon Stark has attainted Martyn Dustin and he is now locked in the dungeons of Winterfell. He has offered to uphold the rights of the Dustins how pledge fealty to him, but they have unanimously refused after the capture of their lord.
-The Braavosi suffered an egregious defeat when their main force was trapped while raiding the great arm of Pentos; they offloaded what men they could on their ships, but this has been a huge blow to the forces of the freed men.
The Bloodletting of Barrowton
Over 2000 men marched under the banner of House Stark on course to meet 1500 men under the Ryswell arms. Brandon decided to take Barrowton in a night assault, the city's gates falling within minutes and he himself first through the breach ahorse with longsword in hand. He took an arrow to the arm halfway through the battle and was escorted out, leaving Mathis Ryswell to lead the forces.
They had the entire town enveloped, sent climbers and threw up ladders. The Barrowton host numbered just under 2000 and included part of their city watch to stiffen the green hosts. The lack of experience on both side saw many flee the field, but more stayed and by dawn, the Stark banner was hoisted above the keep. Mathis was currently holding court at its seat, accepting oaths of fealty in the name of the king and judging the prisoners accordingly. Hundreds lie dead by the dawn, with the rest surrendered and gone over to the Starks/Ryswells or imprisoned.

PLAYER LIST:

1. Lord Lyman - House Mormont of Bear Island

2. Minstral - House Karstark of Karhold

3. Bright Blue Eyes - Mead King of Ruddy Hall

4. Stannis Joplin - House Ryswell of Sable Hall

5. TheCrannogDweller - The Night's Watch

6. Dobromir - House Flint of Widow's Watch

7. Olligarchy - House Magnar of Skaagos

1. Lord Lyman Mormont (45) 3/5/3 : Bear Island Player: Lord Lyman
Vassals: Glover, Woodfoot, Bole,
Castles: Mormont Keep, Deepwood Motte
Prestige: 6 (The gathering of the Mormonts forces has been rapid and impressive, 900 men have already been levied along with 200 horse)
Legitimacy: 10 (The hold of House Mormont over its vassals is iron and will likely stay so for the foreseeable future)
Population: 170,000 / 1300 foot, 400 mounted
Income and coffers: 40,000 GD a yr / 60,000 GD
Resources: Fish, Exotic Furs
Traits and Notes:
Large Game - There are no better hunters than those of bear island, who tangle with the largest prey available south of the wall
South Coast - The South coast of Bear island remains fishable even in the deeps of winter, providing a steady though less consistent source of food, with the rest being free of ice the rest of the time
Skinchangers - House Mormont boasts a large number of skinchangers, rumors say
Fleet - The Bear has not forgotten the Kraken; House Mormont has the only sizable fleet this side of the North

Your new keep is near halfway done, and work has begun on constructing new ships for your fleet. A fine large warship has been ordered along with five new longships. Brandon Stark has agreed with your decision to hold Lord Dustin prisoner and the cooperation with the Night's Watch has led to the fallen brothers being rounded up. Your troops are now being levied in preparation for war, and already 700 men have gathered to your cause

PLAYER CRISES:

-Lord Lyman is now a proud father; the babe is a bit weaker and more prone to sickness, but the mother is recovering and the maester assures you that often some babies are more inclined to illness at birth and it's nothing to worry about as long as care is taken with him.

-Luwin has made a full recovery, but it was a near thing for some time; he has resumed negotiations with the Lannisters who consent to help police trade on the western coasts. They inform Luwin they have also had numerous problems with Ironborn and would be glad to see their influence gone.

-Ser Corlys Pineroot led a charge against your forces in an expression of supreme foolishness; Lancel's forces were taken by surprise as Pineroot men burst from the trees around the encampment he had been set to building. He and his men tried to flee in a raid, but were quickly chased down by horses. Ser Corlys could not be made to surrender. It came to blows between the two and Lancel was forced to take his head. His lands revert back to the Mormonts. 10 footmen and 7 mounted men died.

2. Lord Atheld Karstark 0/1/2 (7), Karhold Player: Minstral
HIS REGENT: Adaric Karstark, Uncle- 4/6/4 (31)
Vassals: Greystark, Long, Greatwood
Castle: Karhold
Prestige: 8 (Courting the two most powerful factions in the North, the Karstarks are are the forefront of Northern politics)
Legitimacy: 5 (Things are reaching a low point with your vassals; while Greystark and Greatwood both seem content, the influx of war refugees and the growing discontent of Lord Long are putting a strain on all of Karhold)
Population: 328,000 / 2,300 foot, 700 horse
Income and coffers: 190,000 GD a yr. / 140,000 GD
Resources: Lumber(See below), Fish
Traits and Notes:
Greatwood Trees - The trees if Karhold are both plentiful and one of a kind; the greatwood tree only takes root in great number here, and Braavosi shipmakers pay highly for this as well as lumber for firewood, representing most of the Karstark income
Rural Coasts - The coasts are broad and the fishing is here is some of the best in the North, though it begins to freeze during winter and are somewhat hard to police
Woodland - This confers a bonus while fighting on your land, while also taking more time to mobilize men as well as making it more difficult to keep them fed in one place

PLAYER CRISES:

-The Braavosi are are now under proper governance of Caswell Slynt; refguees from the slave war are pouring in from all walks of life. Many are Pentoshi or Myrish sympathizers who were chased out of the Titan's city, and there is conflict brewing in the streets. Caswell's methods have proved effective, but the Braavosi chafe under this change. With time, they will likely return to being content.

-Selyse Bolton and her party have arrived; its size easily numbers at over two and a half thousand. The train of wagons stretches on and on, and there have been many gifts given out to your smallfolk. The Karstark men are clearly tense and there are small scuffles, but Selyse has conceded all authority to them. By the time they have reached the castle, there is a swelling of smallfolk gathered around the encampment of the Bolton and Manderly army and there is much mingling. Both great houses bring fifty guardsmen apiece to Karhold where greetings are exchanged, and Lyanna Bolton presented to her potential suitor, Antheld. Lyanna is charming, and Selyse disarming of all suspicion. Before the feast Adaric and Selyse Bolton meet privately; Marence stayed behind at the encampment.

3. Theon, mead king of Ruddy Hall (22) Chief Beyond The Wall Player: Bright Blue Eyes
Prestige: 4 (Theon has bested the Ice River clans chieftain and accepted his surrender as well as loyalty)
Legitimacy: 5 (Life at Ruddy Hall is a prosperous and good one, and the free folk continue to flock there in small bands)
Population: 1421 / 298 raiders, 111 green boys, 87 spear wives, 2 giants (The people directly beholden to or surrounding and effectively sworn to Ruddy Hall)
Income and coffers: 1000 GD in valuables, 13 horses, 10 garrons, a galleon
Resources: Mead
Traits and Notes:
Mead - Ruddy Hall produces the finest mead this side of the wall, and has even interested brother's of the watch at times

The free folk are fleeing the keep of Qarl the former Jarl in vast numbers; few have yet arrived at Ruddy Hall but over three dozen have shown up at the new settlement at Bronze Bee. Work has started on the basic infrastructure and it is already being used to ship goods up and down the river.

In exchange for the horn that was found, the Giants offer to give Theon the location of one of the last settlements of giants left. They number in the hundreds and have many mammoths as well. Swygert will be reticent about giving it up, for he is certain there is something special about the horn he can't place his finger on...

PLAYER CRISES:

-Aly has begun to show signs of pregnancy and is expected to give birth in roughly 8 months

-While monitoring their traffic, Morna came across a village of Nightrunners that had originally thrown in with the chieftain of the ice river clans Theon deposed; there are many skinchangers and they greeted Morna with a celebratory feast. She has caught the eye of the chieftain and he is sure to make an attempt to steal her soon, either there or at Ruddy Hall.

4. Lord Mathis Ryswell (31) 5/5/5 : Sable Hall Player: Stannis Joplin
Vassals: Ryder, Fisher, Branch
Castles:Sable Hall, Lamebole Keep(Branch), Footfall Den (Ryder)
Prestige: 9 (House Ryswell is the second richest in the North now that House Dustin has fallen)
Legitimacy: 8 (The recent rumors about Lord Fisher continue to circulate and hamper views on authority)
Population: 310,000 / 2000 foot and 1000 mounted
Income and coffers: 205,000 GD / 350,000 GD
Resources: Horses
Traits and Notes:
Horsemen - The rills boast the swiftest and fastest horses of the north, as well as the best riders
Longships - A number of fishing boats are available as well as a few longships to House Ryswell to help protect its coasts
Irrigation - Due to the nature of the rills, farmland is abundant due to easy irrigation methods, though not fit for all crops
Mathis Ryswell is currently in command of the royal forces now in Barrowton lands
PLAYER CRISES:
-Lyessa is pregnant, and the child is due within 8 months
-The members of House Dustin aside from Lord Dustin himself and his eldest son are all imprisoned under your control; you learn from Lady Dustin that he left the castle weeks ago and has not been seen since. He is expected to either be rallying resistance or meeting with other lords. The king will expect their submission or their heads. They will be allowed to retain Goldengrass as their new seat once House Stout their vassal is deposed, but says that House Ryswell will now hold Barrowton and take over lordship of the regions. Those bannermen who defy you are to be destroyed and replaced. He also asks you rally whatever armies you can from the process and places you in charge while recovering from his wound.
-You are currently sieging Goldengrass, a stout keep with high walls and towers; it will be six months before the castle falls, and there are at least a hundred defenders inside the walls. It requires at least a thousand men to besiege properly, but King Stark wants to move on to a newer conquest soon.
-Kyle Condon has been slain by Lord Fisher in a surprise assault; he has sent his head in a box back to Sable Hall and has been raising men in his seat at Silkstream
5. Lord Commander Lucas Norrey (48) 5/5/4 : The Wall Player: TheCrannogDweller
Vassals: N/A
Castles: All castles of the wall are currently manned
Prestige: 9 (The recent moves made by the Lord Commander have done much to restore )
Legitimacy: 9
Population: 9,800 / 960 rangers, 2,850 foot, 960 mounted (900 horses, 1460 garrons)
Income and coffers: 12,000 GD / 59,750 GD (The Watch's income has been carefully allotted to maintain such a large standing force of men. As a consequence there is little liquid capital coming in.)
Resources: Virtually none
Traits and Notes:
The Decline of the Watch - The Night's Watch is an institution of great prestige, however over the course of time this begins to decline as the watch forgets its true purpose
Libraries of Castle Black - If there is a center of learning of the North, it is ironically at the wall, where thousands of books lie dating from beyond living memory
Player Crises:
-Cregan and Larence got into a brawl, and Larence was stabbed. The argument started over Cregan's accusations of Larence planning to rally parts of the watch to join the Bolton cause in the south. Larence is expected to make a full recovery
-A group of half starved Essosi slaves has found their way to Eastwatch by the sea; they number around 40
-A great singer and lute player has been making their way throughout the gift; he sings of the glory of the watch and many of the new recruits claim he convinced them to take the black, but he is making somewhat of a bad name for himself throughout the villages for impregnating daughters even as loftily born as a baron's.
6. Lord Crow Flint (31) 5/5/5 : Widow's Watch Player: Dobromir
Vassals: N/A
Castles: Widow's Watch, Dayglow Keep
Prestige: 7 (Widow's Watch has gone dark in terms of communications, but after allying with House Bolton and House Manderly it is a rising star in the North)
Legitimacy: 10 (???)
Population: 140,000 / 1100 foot and 300 mounted
Income and coffers: 45,000 GD a yr. / 55,000 GD
Resources: Hardy Grain
Traits and Notes:
Abandoned Mines* - The lords of widow's watch at one time were made rich in trade of pale blue sapphires, but the mines supposedly dried up long ago and are now home to 'ground folk'
Lighthouse - Widow's Watch is a lighthouse
Wreckers - In conjunction with the lighthouse trait, the lords of Widow's Watch have been known to use guile to steer ships into crashing upon their shores and taking their bounties
Hardy Grain - The combination of strain of grain and ground around widow's watch has led to them being able to farm further into autumn and winter than anywhere else in the North
Your wife has returned from her voyage
Player Crises:
-???
-Lord Crow took Artos Flint's challenge; he managed to kill him but was maimed during the fight and now walks with a limp.

7. King Gorne Magnar 4/2/5 : The Kingdom of Skagos (Stone) Player: Olligarchy
Castles: Deepdown, Driftwood Hall

Vassals: Crowl, Stane, Ysmir

Prestige: 5 (Feeaaaaar the cannibal!)
Legitimacy: 10 (The uprising of Ysmir was dealt with at such speed that the iron loyalty of the Skaagosi is once again behind their stone king)
Population: 120,000 / 2900 foot*
Income and coffers: 5,000 GD / 3750 GD
Resources: Fish, Slaves, Obsidian Mines, Unicorn Blood/Horn/Hair*
Traits and Notes:
Unicorns - These creatures reportedly have great magical properties; their hair is whispered to be unbreakable and unlike any other material found in the world, their blood is reputedly able to grant great gifts to its drinker at a price, and its horns are said to be able to heard across great distances, inspire men, and even contact the children of the forest
Wildling Trade - Along with having trade with the wildlings for what few luxury goods beyond the wall land has to offer, they also are saddled with many a wildling washing up on their coasts, who they enslave and take as thralls, even occassionally selling them to those from the free cities, though your lords do not appreciate dealings with foreigners
Obsidian Mines - The lands of Skaagos boast of the only obsidian mines in the north, though the profession and act of mining is mocked as low by all Skaagosi, fit work only for thralls
Cannibals - The Skaagosi have methods to avoid starvation and harsh winters that are not even considered, let alone spoken openly of; some say they even engage in it ritualistically
*Skaagosi troops, while numerous and possessing almost unshakable morale, are poorly armored and armed

The free folk are hard to break, but in the face of such savages as the Skaagosi even they are cowed into submission.

Player Crises:

-Gorne set out for the isle of Skane after his return, and the scene there was nothing short of madness. He says there are now 8 foot monsters walking about on Skane, loudly and often. Fifty of the men who went with him did not return, and the other fifty have been terrorized by what they witnessed. They claim the waters were nearly impossible to escape from and tell wild tales of sea monsters; they say this was not a kraken but similar

8. Lord Rodrik Flint 4/2/5 : House Flint of Cape Kraken Player: Ser Fingerbones
Castles: Flint's Finger

Vassals: 3 separate branches of House Flint

Prestige: 5 (House Flint boasts some of the finer farmland of the North, but is surrounded by unfriendly folk such as crannogmen and ironborn)
Legitimacy: 7 (The ironborn raids and troubles with crannogmen keep rule a bit unstable and must be constantly maintained)
Population: 180,000 / 1600 foot and 600 horse
Income and coffers: 75,000 GD a yr / 150,000 GD
Resources: Good farmland, Fish, Marble, Gold*
Traits and Notes:
Ironborn Raiders - Cape Kraken is named with good reason; there is no group more beset upon by ironborn than the people of Flint's Finger
Gold mine - Flint's Finger is sat atop on old gold mine that is speculated to be nearly mined. However, there are still veins of gold deep within the mine which draw many a jealous eye

Player Crises:

-A local stream has been panned and gold been found; smallfolk are flocking to this land and it will need to be policed before the peasants walk off with all of the gold.

-There is a woodswitch wandering your realm; she claims prophetic powers in exchange for a blood price. She is chased out of town by believers of the seven, but many swear by her power...

9. Lord Wylis Umber 2/4/2 : Last Hearth Player: House Mauldania
Castles: Last Hearth

Vassals: Holt, Lake, Moss

Prestige: 7 (The mightiest fighters the North has to offer, these men often have fierce reputations which command respect, though is not always given by the haughtiest of Northern lords due to rumors of barbaric activities)
Legitimacy: 10 (The Umbers and their vassals keep the old ways such as First Night and blood sacrifice. By allowing them to hold to these traditions you command their undying loyalty, though it causes some in the realm to shun you)
Population: 340,000 / 2000 foot, 1000 men with garrons, 400 mounted
Income and coffers: 60,000 GD a yr. / 120,000 GD
Resources: Lumber, Weirwood, ???(caves)
Traits and Notes:
Wildling raids - The Umbers suffer from raiding wildlings due to the lack of natural cover the mountain clans can boast, and some say they use passages and ways now lost to the North to pillage
Cave Systems - Underneath the North and extending even beyond the wall are vast caves of unknown origin; though some return with fables of riches untold waiting to be mined or secret passages with secrets, more return with tales of monsters and demons, or not at all
Weirwood Grove - The Umbers possess the largest natural grove of weirwoods south of the wall, rivalling Winterfell's godswood. The Umbers swear by its power and make regular prayer here, which they say explains their harvests which seem larger than should be possible...

Player Crises:

-Cassana Cassel (22) 2/2/0 is a great beauty and has been noticed recently around Last Hearth; there are few who can claim to be as fair as face as she, and she possesses a charisma to match

-Howland Lake (27) , the third son of a prominent vassal has deserted the Night's Watch and been caught on your lands; it falls to you to deliver judgment on him

-A great smithy Lyle Mollen (45) 0/1/3 has come to your court seeking patronage; he claims to produce the finest swords and armor this side of Westeros, but asks for his own forge (5,000 GD) in order to work under you

-The Skaagosi have raided your lands heavily! Over 15,000 GD in valuables and infrastructure was lost, not to mention thousands displace and hundreds brought back to Skaagos; this kind of action cannot be tolerated, may the Old Gods grant you vengeance or at least peace!

HOUSE FLINT OF CAPE KRAKEN

Rodrik Flint 2/2/5

Serena Flint 4/3/1

Danny Flint 3/2/2

Byam Flint 0/2/5

Theon Flint 5/2/0

A bit of backstory.

Rodrik is the lord and head of House Flint of Flint's Finger. He follows the typical, stark view of life that Northerners hold. He is something of a drunkard, and is willing to leave his morals at the gate if it means he will receive personal gain or extend his family's lands or influence in the North. He has fathered numerous bastards over the years, though has refused to accept them as his children. Only one has become involved in the Flint's household. Rodrik is a fierce warrior, his skill with an axe is unrivaled on Flint's Finger. He also has a keen understanding of war and battle tactics.

Serena is Rodrik's wife and lady of Flint's Finger. She was the bastard daughter of a wealthy lord in the North. Rodrik agreed to marry her for the heavy dowry that came with her, though she was near twenty years his younger. Their marriage is mostly loveless. Serena despises Rodrik, his stark view of life, his drunken ways, and his lack of morals in his willingness to extend his family's lands and influence in the North. Rodrik dislikes Serena, yet admires her for her intelligence. It is true to say that she is the true ruler of Flint's Finger, dealing with most disputes that break out on their lands and other such things that bore Rodrik. Though if a particular problem is deemed interesting enough by Rodrik he will lend his hand, and, oft unwelcome, opinion.

Danny is the oldest of the Flint children. She is brave and strong, with a strong sense of justice instilled in her. She has a strong desire to travel and see the world, but also to defend it from the evils that oft pervade it. She enjoys playing at arms and has become quite skilled with a sword, and at horse riding, though her mother does not approve.

Byam is the eldest son and heir to the Flints of Flint's Finger. He is not a particularly bright lad, though he is a savage fighter with a strong belief in duty and honour. His family name and its legacy means more to him than anything, and he eagerly looks forward to the day when he can lead his family to glory.

Theon is the second son, and youngest of the Flints. He is quite intelligent, with a cunning mind for intrigue. Yet his father does not care for this and his preference to read rather than fight. Theon is cold and austere, and generally dislikes his family.

Maester Errol 1/4/0

Joron Cassel (Master at Arms) 1/0/4
Torrhen Snow (Steward) 3/2/2
Septa Ulmer 1/2/0

The Flints of Flint's Finger sent five hundred of their men to fight for the Boltons in the war before the winter. They were treated harshly and most of the men died, including Rodrik's father, Cregan, and his brother, Arnolf. It was all in vain. The Flints received no additional land or rewards for their efforts. and now Rodrik harbours a hatred for his overlords, the Boltons, and will be less than willing to send away so many men if another war breaks out.

MID TURN, YEAR 0001, (Months 10-11)

THE WALL:

Larence Snow has deserted the watch after recovering and took almost 200 men with him. Cregan is furious and vows to go and fetch him back for death and judgment should he be given leave to pursue by the Lord Commander. He will need to be replaced as commander of the Shadow Tower as well as refilling its garrison.

The singer has been imprisoned and put to death by a local baron.

======

BEAR ISLAND:

Many a tavern held toasts to Loras Mormont, the pride of the isle. He grows stronger every day and his mother has already taken her own first steps after the birth, and continues to move back towards normalcy.

Luwin has returned from Lannisport.

Lancel and Aegon are currently guests are Ironrath; the house agrees to swear fealty in exchange for tax breaks, and will begin supplying wood from their forests of Ironwood. The backing of the Starks' as the Mormont's new liege doubtless has played a part in this decision, and now they only require a marriage pact before formally swearing fealty.

The armies of Bear Island are currently at full strength and ready to be marched. They number over 1500 men excluding garrisons and patrols, and Lord Stark requests you move them to Winterfell and continue drilling them.

======

THE RILLS:

The siege wears on, and there has still been no sign of the Dustin heir. The Stark/Ryswell host now numbers over 4000 even after casualties and continues to grow by recruiting the men of Barrowton and those passing through, though it is split between guarding Barrowton and sieging Goldengrass. The Dustins make no move to swear fealty to the king, and night raids have begun on the host that whittle away at its edges and instill fear into the men.

Lord Fisher continues to gather a host and it is expected he will march directly on Sable town soon in order to gain leverage in negotiations.

======

KARHOLD:

After his meeting with the Lady Selyse, Adaric excuses himself from the proceedings, having Antheld play host. While the feasting begins inside, Adaric is making a routine patrol of the walls with Titus as his guard when they are set upon by six ruffians. They are managed to be defeated, but Titus is badly wounded and soon bleeds out while Adaric calls loudly for aid and a maester. He brings the bodies of these attackers as well as Titus, and throws them at the feet of the court at Karhold during the middle of the feast. He demands to know if Marence or Selyse had any hand in this design, and only shouts over her when she protests. She is asked to leave Karhold, with Michel Manderly and Lyanna Bolton remaining as hostages for the actions of the Bolton/Manderly party. Selyse's eyes narrow, but she makes no comment, only locking eyes with her sister Lyanna and mouthing unseen words to her. She consents to the demands and immediately departs the castle with Minisa Manderly, Johanson Flint, and the Bolton/Manderly guardsmen. Michel Manderly attempts to fight his way free and is forcibly detained, his face a red and purple ruin by the end of the brawl. He is thrown into the dungeons while Lyanna is given regal apartments in the castle. What remains of the Bolton/Manderly party then leaves the borders of the Karstark lands in all haste in the direction of the Dreadfort.

The Bolton name is openly slandered in taverns and halls, though in the smaller pot shops the smallfolk who were there claim the Boltons meant no harm. Regardless, the Bolton stock is plummetting fast in Karhold and as men are being called on to gather in Karhold, the Greystarks and Greatwoods are firm in their support of Adaric and decry the Boltons party a ruse in order to incapacitate their ruling regent. Lord Long has been ominously silent regarding the matter.

Braavosi shipmakers are being gathered and new crews being prepared.

WIDOW'S WATCH

?????

======

THE FREE FOLK

The settlement of the giants is farther north even than the valley of the Thenns; they live in the high mountains in small bands, though this particular settlement, called Dar Krik in the fashion of the old tongue, numbers in the hundreds. The horn is delivered directly to the giants' chieftain. It is revealed to be the make of the children of the forest, and is used to summon them to eachother over great distances and is used as a vehichle through which they can weave great magics. When asked by Swygert why the children have not come, the giant chieftain only smiles. He sends gratitude to Theon for this boon, and is ready to open discourse with him in person.

Much of the infrastructure for the trading post at Bronze Bee has been established; there are now regular movements of rafts up and down the rivers. It will soon rival Ruddy Hall as a trade destination due to the Thenns use of it. By working with the Thenns, Oblio has managed to begun a small smelting operation using bog iron, but it isn't quite prevalent enough to warrant a full size operation. He has however already created a fine steel greatsword and it is delivered to Theon at Ruddy Hall.

Morna's attempted theft resulted in a full belly for Star, and there is not like to be another suitor anytime soon.

======

SKAAGOS

They moved at night and struck quickly; the northmen ripped from their beds and slain should they attempt resistance, while entire villages are ransacked. Last Hearth has had their coastal settlements devastated by raiders. These people had little wealth other than their lives, but all has been taken back to Skaagos. Over three hundred people were brought back to the isle for enslavement.

Operations have begun to harvest the vast abundance of seals and sealions floating around near Skaagos. Their blubber is known to fetch high prices in cold environments and it provides a steady source of ivory and meat. The troops of Skaagos have been seen practicing heavily with bows and, amid growing grumbles from vassals and smallfolk alike, production is at a higher pace than ever.

======

CAPE KRAKEN

Though you arrive to collect taxes on the gold being hauled away, there are so many peasants now flocking there and it is impossible to police and soon the gold seems to have dried up. Only 1000 GD were netted in profits.

Need someone to fill in or add to??? I'm interested in what you're doing here. :D

We're accepting new players, though be warned, House Stark, Bolton and Manderly are all hurtling towards war and are on a set path. You can play them, but their characters have already been established: King Brandon is wrought in the mold of Stannis with a smidgeon of Robert, while Selyse Bolton is very much in the Olenna/Roose camp; Manderly is pretty much Manderly ;D

House Umber, Liddle, and Reed are all currently open as well. Liddle has thrown in with the Starks but hasn't given much support, while House Umber has refused the Starks, and House Reed has been silent aside from sending a representative to Winterfell for the double wedding that occurred. You can pick any faction (ideally all the factions should have players controlling them) but I'd suggest the latter 3 if you want more freedom of choice, especially in terms of characterizations.

Be patient with me as I learn what is required of me to continue to further the game. I choose the Umbers.

The beauty of this game is you can do anything you want, as long as it's realistically feasible in the setting. Each turn lasts 3 months with an update in the middle, so whatever you can do in that time is allowed.

HOUSE UMBER

Benjen Umber (62), Lord of Last Hearth, widowed

Wylis Umber (44), heir to Last Hearth, married

-Robert Snow (24), bastard son of Wylis

-Wendel Umber (19), son of Wylis

-Jonnella Umber (17), daughter of Wylis

Abel Umber (37), second son of Benjen

Harlan Umber (34), third son of Benjen

Orwyle Umber (32), fourth son of Benjen

Cassana Umber (26), only dauther to Benjen, unmarried

You have 40 points to distribute amongst the house members; there are 3 categories, intrigue(plots), statecraft(governance and negotiation), and martial (combat related matters). Each has some overlap which can effect the others, so you want to pick 'the right man for the job' when giving orders; 5 is the max for any category.

After that, you take 20 more points and create your own characters to fill your court. You can use the others' player houses as examples

@House Mauldania: ...Is this a good time to apologize for what will happen to you on your first turn? ;)

But welcome to the game! Hope you have a blast crammed between the Cannibalistic Barbarians off your coast, the mischievous politicians to your south and the slightly less barbaric barbarians to your west!

...And the Wall to your North!
