Bleed Rangers Blue Posted April 19, 2015 Share Posted April 19, 2015 This is a question I asked myself many times and If ever I came across the answer, I simply cannot remember so I really hope to clear it up now. It's obviously not so significant or important to call for urgent explanation but all the same, I kind of would like to know what in the heck happened to them? My hunch is it has something to do with Roberts Rebellion because I think House Whent supported the Targaryens but I know Hoster Tully's wife was a Whent, right? THANK YOU in advance. Whents were infertile...you say you think they can't have children and then quote text which stated they has five children..?The wiki text on Shella being childless is completely wrong...Shella yielded Harrenhal, as J. Stargaryen said, during the war. It was given to Janos Slynt, and Petyr Baelish after him. Lady Shella was the last of her line, her husband and children having predeceased her. Fightbringer Posted April 19, 2015 Share Posted April 19, 2015 probably cos you would have to take a castle off of someone to give it to Janos Slynt and Harrenhal is ideal because1.The ruler of Harrenhal is an old lady who without any heirs or soldiers who is unlikely to cause any problems if you revoke it 2. It happens to already be under the control of the Lannisters, if you started predistributing castles before the war is won, it might make your enemies more stubborn when it comes to surrendering knowing that they would not be given lenient terms3. Oswell Whent and his family helped Rhaegar with the Tourney, Willem Darry ran with the kids and Jonotor was a KG. I bet they knew a lot about Rhaegar and his intentions of removing Aerys.
