Football XXXVIII: Wenger v The Special One

Juve are getting a bit careless with their passing. Could prove costly. They've played surprisingly well, but probably needs at least one more goal to make it interesting at the Bernabeu.

In the previous thread, I did sort-of defend the way Newcastle are being run, in that there's nothing wrong with trying to run a club at a profit.

However, there's clearly quite a lot wrong with this:

So, you offer the job to Steve McLaren, he turns you down, and then you give John Carver a vote of confidence? Bloody hell. If Carver hadn't already completely lost the dressing room himself by publicly accusing a senior player of deliberately getting sent off, Mike Ashley would certainly have guaranteed it now. Why should any Newcastle player have any confidence in anyone at the club? Shambolic, is the word.

Newcastle seem to have reached an agreement with Anderlecht over transfer of Mitrovic.

Reported fee is 15M£ but Newcaste and Mitrovic are yet to agree on terms.

He's the best scorer of Belgian league, and has scored the equaliser against Arsenal to make it 3-3.

Still, his head is not in the right place at times and he can make some stupid decisions.

Basically, he's a poor man's Balotelli.

sounds like cisse will be sent packing then.

I would love to see what perez is capable of in a 4-4-2. As a lone striker he is far too easy to isolate and shut down.

But also the desire just hoof the ball 70 yards towards a short striker is with its own problems.
