Maybe i read it and just forgot. cause it took me a while to read this book because i was going through a massive life change.

how and why did jaqen get captured by yoren? He's a faceless man right? So shouldn't he be able to escape capture?

Thanks

Jaqen was one of the prisoners Yoren was allowed to take from the Black Cells in KL by Ned, when Ned was still Hand of the King. Jaqen indeed is a Faceless Man, and yet he did not attempt to escape before Yoren's death. Either because he couldn't, or because he saw no rush to do so. After Yoren's death, Jaqen saw himself as in debt to Arya, and thus remained close until that debt was paid.

Why Jaqen had been in the Black Cells to begin with remain a question, however.

There's a theory out there where Arya's adventures are seen as analogue to the Odyssee, and Jaqen is comparable to Hermes who helps Odyssee escape one of his prisons. Jaqen certainly has an almost magical appeal and role in Harrenhall. The whole chapter with the weasel soup reads like some nightmarish version of midsummer night's dream.

I had a theory that the reason that Jaqen sticks around for as long as he does is because he's actually Serrio Forrel Aryas dancing master who was teaching her 'needle work'. The last Arya sees of him is when the guards are sent to seize her and he tells her to run and he's faced with the guards (can't remember how many) but you never actually hear if he dies or not theres just the assumption. Due to the fact that he was hired by Ned Stark and anyone associated with the Starks were either imprisoned or beheaded (minus Sansa) and there is nothing ever mentioned.. And he was from Braavos and that is where the Faceless Men are from...

Who he is..... short answer, no one. I know that sound cheeky, but its the truth. His name is most likely not Jaqen, nor is he from Lorath. It's a face that a faceless man is wearing. The hair, speech patterns, accent, all put on like a mask. I don't see finding much out about "him" because part of the whole House of Black and White training seems to be getting rid of ones backstory.
