Pretty excited for this as well, I just hope that people give it a chance to stand on its own and don't immediately start comparing it to the first season. It's gonna be tough to top Woody and Wooderson and the job they did.

Tough to top them? There's zero chance Colin and Kitsch will.

Taylor Kitsch lol? Come on.

So, now you are becoming snarky to people in your useless, one line, negative responses. Can you please come up with something that takes cognitive abilities to share? I know that I am harping on you about this, but it is frustrating to go through the clutter post after post in every single thread that I open up on this site. Your meaningless and inane driveling has worn out its welcome.

All I am asking for is for you to step it up and actually contribute. You obviously care enough about what is being discussed here to read people's ideas, now, if you could translate that into sharing ideas of your own, it would be worth having a discussion with you.

You guys, I'm so excited about this. I was lukewarm about the cast when it was first announced ( except for Mcadams) but I'm warming up to them. Colin Farrell looks pretty ridiculous on that escalator though.

Agreed. I'm guilty of this myself, so I take what you wrote to heart.

I like what Nictarion said. I certainly never thought that Harrleson and Matthew M would give the kind of performances they did, but the supporting actors were also fantastic. The whole production was stellar. Taylor Kitsch's performance in Savages was good. I'm hopeful about this upcoming season.

I had full confidence in the McConnaissance and Harrelson to deliver a quality performance. I have always quite liked Woody (e.g. he was brilliantly funny in Zombieland) and now I'll even reveal one of my darkest secrets

I liked McConaughey before the McConnaissance started. I'm glad he left those romcom's behind, but I can't hate those films. I can even enjoy Ghosts of Girlfriends Past :( (I know, shameful isn't it, I'll leave both my mancard and my moviebuff card behind)

Contrast that with Collin Farrell an actor who has never done it for me personally. I have seen quite a big part of his filmography and it's pretty woeful. The only movies were I can't remember feeling antipathy for him were In Bruges (though making fun of West-Flanders is going after really lowhanging fruit) and Seven Psychopaths. And he was directed by Martin McDonagh, which is a pretty unfair advantage, since both the McDonagh brothers are quite brilliant. On top of that, in both those movies he was overshadowed by his fellow stars (I liked pretty much every majorish character better than his).

Taylor Kitsch I don't mind so much. He has never impressed me (but then, I haven't seen friday night lives) but I never really hated him. Although I have to say the man makes some pretty stupid choices when it comes to movies. I mean Battleship, what's up with that?

McAddams for me is the only one I'm really looking forward to. I have always enjoyed her performances, a bit like McConaughey really. I think she can do better and I hope she proves that this season.

McCog was already on a roll approaching this - and all the new cast are good/solid but I've seen nothing of late suggesting it could be amazing.

Then again, a good script could bring a stellar performance out of the cast. It'd be great if Adams stole the show as that would address some people's concerns of the first season being male-centric.

I haven't seen Kitsch in much but always get the impression he picks bad material rather than him being bad himself. No one looked good in Battleship or Wolverine:origins.

Yeah I was a fan of McConaughey before True Detective. He was great in A Time to Kill and I never thought he was a bad actor or anything, just a dude who picked shit roles for a while. I like Farrell a lot as well and have no doubt he will be fine, Kitsch is the only one I'm unsure about tbh and that is just cause I haven't seen him in anything and my first impression of him screams generic. (Doubt he's a worse actor than Kit Harrington though :D :P )

I just hope that people give it a chance to stand on its own and don't immediately start comparing it to the first season..

for sure, it's already super tiresome.

I had categorized McConaughey as a romcom guy - and I don't much care for that genre. So, I was rocked by his performance in TD season 1 - and now see him as a stellar talent.

I've always enjoyed Woody - he's pretty hilarious (I'm thinking King Pin here). He didn't disappoint either.

As for this coming season, yeah McAdams looks like she's kicking some ass. I like Vince - and expect to see him grow in a more serious role. Farrell's eyebrows always distract me and now he's got a porn-stach that I'm going to have to get past. We'll see how it goes.

Good trailer. Seems like there's gonna be "uncanny psychology" in No Country For Old Men fashion?

At least that's sorta the vibe I got given the little info we've to go on.
