(Book Spoilers) Rumored tile is "Winter" = finally a bleak ending to a season

Recommended Posts

There's rumor floating around that this episode is titled "Winter." Does this mean we'll finally get a truly bleak ending to a season.

Most of the seasons end with a kernel of something hopeful.

Season 1 = Robb declared king & the dragons are hatched

Season 2 = Mel gives Stannis some hope; Dany gets rich after imprisoning Xaro; Bran & Rickon escape

Season 3 = myhsa; Jon returns to the watch

Season 4 = Arya on her way to a new life; Tyrion escapes; Tywin dies

We might not get this kernel this season. This season we might have:

a. Reveal of R+L=J leading immediately to "For the Watch"

b. Dany abandoned by Drogo on the plains

c. Stannis possibly dead/ Pink letter

d. Sansa & Theon escaping Winterfell only to be lost in the snow slowly freezing to death

e. Brienne captured as she helps Sansa escape (possible cloak of Pod)

f. Mel trying to sacrifice Shireen to save Stannis

Honestly, the fans might be totally depressed and hate the show when all the storylines end horribly for the good guys.

No chance that Jon's parentage is going to be revealed before the stabby-stabby. There isn't time.

And how many times do people have to be told that R+L=J is a fanfic theory and a rather silly one at that?

I doubt Drogon is going to the plains, more likely he is heading off to Valyria with Danny. Else why build those sets?

Other than that, I agree its going to be bleak.

i think this is proof enough we are going to get DAny last chapter in ADWD

back to the OP ...

there is only one scene that will have an ending with a hope Dany's and the producers have said that the last scene will be from books ..

which leaves us only three option :

varys killing kevan

jon stabbed

dany meeting khalasar

personally i think it will be in this order jon getting stabbed

varys killing kevan and

dany meeting khalasar

a. Reveal of R+L=J leading immediately to "For the Watch"

b. Dany abandoned by Drogo on the plains

i dont think that Reveal will be happening this season ..

abandoned by Drogon the chapter ends with Drogon answering her call and them sharing food and standing next to each other when the khalasar surrounds

Can't they come up with something more creative? Just call it the Winds of Winter or something.

Winter has always been my top choice title for the finale and I find it perfect. We dont need any more words... just "winter"... that's enough and that says it all.

That looks like it is in the hills around Meereen rather than the Dothraki Sea, you can even see the real sea. I think it is more likely that the chared bones are something Tyrion will see on his way to Meereen.

I don't think they will end with Dany in the Dothraki Sea. They will end with her flying away on Drogon. They aren't going to set up a whole new location for one episode.

Similarly I think they will end Theon and Sansa's arc either with them jumping off the wall rather than walking around in the snow, which is just pointless.

i remember reading that back in season one where they filmed the finale with Drogo's funeral was also shot near the sea and edited out sea part maybe someone can find a link for that one..

https://moviemaps.org/locations/28w.....see it was near to the sea as well

from the Promo of episode 7 tyrion is already in meereen so tyrion cant be possibly witness that...

there have been more dothraki references and appearnces this season than previous seasons...they are setting up that arc..

and if dany flying away on drogon is the last we see dany means she will not appear in this episode at all because that would have happened in episode 9 itself...

somehow i dont see Dany sitting out of the finale

yes i think they Sansa and theon may escape winterfell jump from the tower and saved by brienne will be a good ending for that story line

Cersei's Walk of Shame is another option.

i dont see how that can be season ender ...may be it will end the KL storyline but not the Season ..

You said Dany meeting khalasar, but shouldn't Dany in this case be meeting khalasar together with Tyrion, considering that you said that Tyrion is going to be in the Pit?

why should he be with her when that is the moment where she spends time alone and finds herself again and bond with Drogon..

Missandei jorah and Daario also with her in the pit ...should they also hop with her to that ..

So what happens with Tyrion then?

After Dany leaves, he does what exactly?

Episode 10 cast list hints we're to see a return of the Night's King and a White Walker, another preview of the army of the dead? (Like when Sam encountered them at the end of S2) Setting up for the big conflict encroaching in following seasons...

That is according from the false list on imdb, I say false because they don't have Cersei in the last two episodes, which is impossible.

going to be with jorah and round up the Sons of the harpy like barristan did in the books

In your scenario Jorah, Daario and Tyrion(the dwarf that cannot fight), would be surrounded by Sons of the Harpy, but would nevertheless - by some miracle - manage not to get slaughtered by them.
