Primalsplit
Has anyone realized yet, that we are so focused on the absurdity of Dorne so much that we practically forgot about the little detail why Doran doesn't move from that chair of his? I mean, it's 6 episodes we have gone through so far and no mention of the gout yet. To only show watchers, Doran is completely healthy; just a bit lazy. And there is not even a single person in the forum who realized it yet!
jbent87
That is somewhat bad writing, good job by you. Unsullied probably hate this guy for just sitting in his chair taking the verbal abuse he's been taking. With no mention of the gout, he just comes off as a lazy dickhead. Mish Windage
Assumed most thought he was sitting in a wheelchair.
The Rat Kook
They do mention it in S4E2 at the wedding. It is uncharacteristic of the GoT writers not to mention it again to help remind us, though.
Primalsplit
Well I did forgot that Rat Kook, good point. It is weird though, considering we are supposed to forget what we see in earlier seasons.
Udvarnoky
They explicitly mention the gout in Season 4, and we see him in a wheelchair. Not sure how much more time the show is supposed to devote to this element.

Primalsplit
I dunno, it looked like a normal chair to me.
Gendry_Goldeneyes
he's clearly shown to be in a wheelchair in the last episode...you can tell because the chair has wheels...
robasp2
he's clearly shown to be in a wheelchair in the last episode... you can tell because the chair has wheels...Yes, but casual show watchers (probably >80% ) just watch the show for the story or just because everyone watches it.10 or so of my friends too asked me why he is always sitting in the same spot. They dont bother to observe. JonCon's Red Beard
I think I just expect people with gout to just be fat bastards. That's my bad then. It's because mostly people with gout makes little exercise. My father had gout and other problems. As he was in a diet due to his heart and diabetes he lost a lot of weight and got thin. On the good days he could walk, although with difficulty.
