Speculation about the appearing Storylines

Looks like it's going to be a super-full and packed episode.

We have this episode synopsis:

Jon prepares for conflict. Sansa tries to talk to Theon. Brienne waits for a sign. Stannis (Stephen Dillane) remains stubborn. Jaime attempts to reconnect with family.

This already confirms for 5x07:

- The Wall

- Winterfell

- Stannis & Co.

- BriPod

- Dorne

Then we have seen the promo trailer for the episode, which shows also the Wall, Stannis and Winterfell, but also adds:

- Tyrion/Jorah

- King's Landing

And then we have again this recapped.com site, which says:

Episode 7, airing on May 23, has the Gilly (Hannah Murray) and Samwell sex scene. Tyene Sand (Rosabell Laurenti Sellers) is also supposed to get naked as she is talking to Bronn in prison. And Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) has a scene in bed with Daario.

So this confirms again the Wall and Dorne, but also:

- Meereen

To cut a long story short, we can say we know this episode features:

- The Wall

- Winterfell

- Stannis & Co.

- BriPod

- Dorne

- Tyrion/Jorah

- KL

- Meereen

... Wow. So, unless Arya sits this episode out (which I think she does*, even though it's called "The Gift"), this episode would basically include every single storyline (or without her, still almost every).

*I think we'll see her again in 5x08 (for which she's confirmed to appear), likely killing the insurances man (there was a casting call for him), and then in 5x09 the murder of Trant.

EVERY storyline would be just too much, wouldn't it?

4 more days to go. I can only comment on the likely scenario that Stannis and Winterfell are very much on a collision course. But judging from how they seem to drag things out, I do not believe the Winterfell and Stannis storylines will overlap YET. I believe Sansa and Theon will make an escape attempt from Winterfell with Brienne's help. If they are successful, the episode will stop just short of their meeting with Stannis' army.

Speaking of all the storylines, you only mentioned the ones they are featuring THIS season. We still will not have anything for the Iron Islands, The Riverlands (Freys, Edmure, the Blackfish and the Brotherhood without Banners), Bran or even Rickon.

Mhm, I think it's interesting that the synopsis for 5x08 "Hardhome" is saying:

Arya makes progress in her training. Sansa confronts an old friend. Cersei (Lena Headey) struggles. Jon travels.

If Theon and Sansa would be already with Brienne in 5x07, and with Stannis in 5x08, I don't see this description fitting.

Who is this old friend? My personal guess would be Theon, because Sansa finds out that he didn't kill her brothers, and confronts him about what really happened (and he's called "old friend", because he becomes more and more his old former self again). Or it could be Brienne? (Would she be called 'old friend'?) Or - I hope not - Littlefinger?

Either way, I don't think their escape will already happen in this episode, Theon still has to go to the Hearttree to confess, and actually, thinking about the trailer, I find it rather looks like Ramsay is leaving (when he and Sansa stand in the snowy Winterfell, and he gives her a fast kiss, like saying "Bye-Bye, I'm going to crush some traitors"). Maybe he'll plan an attack at the Baratheon camp?

(I've seen people saying they've seen an interview with Iwan Rheon and in the background was Stannis' camp, has anybody a link to this?)

And yes, with 'every storyline' I was only referring to those that are in this season (we know Yara will be back, but we won't really have an Iron Island/Ironborn "storyline").

The Gift- place where stannis gets his first trouble. Tents burning.

Why always assume Arya & gift?

Oh, I was thinking about both! When I first saw the title, my first association was "Okay, they'll use the double-meaning of Arya and the Gift of Mercy & the so called area before the Wall where Stannis and Jon want to settle the Wildlings in the books".

It's just that other people are so very sure Arya will appear because of "The Gift", but that would be just too full and packed, IMO (and she already gave the GoM to someone in 5x06).

I am bummed we likely won't get the scene of Jon sacking up and telling off Melisandre. I am tired of Simp Jon in the show.

"A grey girl on a dying horse. Daggers in the dark? A promised prince, born in smoke and salt. It seems to me that you make nothing but mistakes, my lady. Where is Stannis? What of Rattleshirt and his spearwives? Where is my sister?"

And then he just happens to get a letter telling him where Stannis is, what happened to "Rattleshirt" and that is his sister isn't at Winterfell. What a lucky coincidence for Mel.

i noticed that the runtime of episode will be 59 mins which means nearly 1 hour ...so it should be enough for all this story line ...

i think jon dany and jamie will be having less amount of screentime ...the major focus will be on KL with Olena and LF and evrything ...then in the NOrth with Ramsay and Roose preparing and Stannis marching ..jorah and tyrion in meereen

Sadly i think Arya is going to be siting out this one but it is good for her in a way ...

i dont know how much time Sam and gilly are going to take

and i just realised that this maybe the episode that Aemon leaves us all

I believe that Sansa is looking at a flayed and hung Myranda in the trailer. Why else would she be looking up in horror like that? A flayed Myranda is Ramsey's wedding gift to Sansa.

There is also a shot in one of the first trailers where Cersei is holding something covered while at the Sept of Balor so I think this is either a gift for the High Septon or for Margery.

I am also thinking that Tyrion will be a wedding gift to Hizdar in this episode.

Tyene will "gift" Bronn with an antidote to the poison from the casting scripts.

Any other ideas of what gifts this title could refer to?

That one is gonna be a very heavy episode...

59 minutes, yes, but all the storylines of the season will be included... with the possible omission of Arya, but something tells me she's gonna be in it.

So, I try here to speculate on ranking the storylines that will get the most screentime. I'd say in that order :

- The Wall.

- King's Landing.

- Winterfell (includes BriPod).

- Tyrion / Jorah.

- Stannis.

- Dorne.

- Meereen.

My guess is that we will transition from Tyrion / Jorah to Dany.

TyJoh will end on their arrival to Meereen, Tyrion gazing at the pyramids, transition to Dany in her pyramid.

Oh and I think this will be Aemon's last episode.

i think the promo shows that tyrion is thrown into some sort of cell so he may already be inside of meereen or under the yezzan next episode

yes me too think this will be Aemon's last episode

Hehe, I find that funny because the German word for poison is "Gift" (and gift / present is "Geschenk")

I guess Tyrion and Jorah will be sold to Yezzan this episode (auction scene). Yezzan may want to initially only buy Jorah, but Tyrion could (reverse to the books) make a case to take him as well.

I could also see later down Hizdhar visiting Yezzan's slaves (and a "Oh shit, Hizdhar is still behind slavery !" moment) and buy Tyrion as a gift for Dany. ("Oh, a Westerosi dwarf, maybe he'll entertain her !").

I'm still reading the replies, but already 'yes' to everybody who thinks Aemon will die in this episode, I think so, too :crying:

This will probably be the "trigger" for the Sam/Gilly sex scene to happen, and well, Thorne says "You're losing all your friends, Tarly" in the trailer :(

ETA: I know ADWD is actually the time for Jon to feel lonely at the top, but with Pyp and Grenn dead on the show, Shireen left with Stannis, Jon gone to Hardhome, everybody slowly becoming against Jon, soon Aemon also dead, it's also very hard for poor Sam, at least he has still Gilly and the babe.

That being said, I'm quite fond of show!Hizdhar and I love Joel Fry's interpretation, so some part of me would be sad if he ends up the Harpy or Harpy-related, but I can totally see the show doing it. (Or maybe more likely than when they saw that he was close to Dany, the Harpy leaders approached him and possibly bribed or threatened him).

I dont think Thorne will "soil" Aemon's memory with that kind of snarky remark. I more think he'll say that when Jon departs.

If Jon leaves before Aemon dies, who will send Sam off to Oldtown? Will he just go on his own accord? Will Aemon ask him to leave before he dies?

Please D&D. Please leave in the "Egg, I dreamed that I was old" line.

I LOVE Show!Hizdahr!

Oh, me too! (That I think the comment is actually only related to Jon) But well, we know the show's *cough* subtle *cough* foreshadowing ;)

well i would love the show Hizdar if he is not harpy ...the main reason against him is if he is harpy then people will symphatise with him and it will come at a cost of dany's character

but that said i liked Fry's delivery when he spoke to dany about how he wanted not to die afraid but seems he dint want to die at all

agree about Thorne he says that when jon leaves ...i think Aemon will die after jon departed
