House Soprano
The show has become a bit of a snoozefest. Maybe because it is missing real authentic villains like Joffrey and to a certain extent Tywin. The actor portraying Joffrey was very good and I think he is sorely missed. Ramsay is trying but is nowhere close to Joffrey. So even though he was hated, do you miss him on the show? And if not him who do you miss most? Ned?
magic713
Yep. I miss the little prick. He was a common enemy to cheer against for three years and now we lost him. After he died, I started fading away from the show. not even bothering to watch Season 5.
robasp2
If Ramsey sat on the throne I guess he will be worse than Joffrey.Joffrey annoyed me since he always said "I am the king".Ramsey is a phsycotic AND sadistic person, so I (not)like him more :)
Barbecue
I think Ramsay is doing a great job. He's just a different kind of maniac.
Good Guy Garlan
Yeah, the Joff was a great villain. I've never been a Ramsay fan, he bores me to tears and is super one-note. Needs more Euron
The Rat Kook
If you are missing Joffrey and Tywin I would recommend becoming a fan of Roose Bolton.
SerDesmondHume
Joffrey was fun to hate and got his comeuppance regularly. He'd get slapped about once a season, cry, be made fun off and just completely fail. Ramsay not so much fun for most viewers. I do like how over the top he was in season 3 and 4 where he'd just flay people randomly. But he's not likeable this season.

juniperstone
I missed Joffrey before he died! Jack Gleeson captured him so amazingly well, I was not looking forward to his end
The L.E.D.
I do, although I wouldn't say I actually miss him. Yet I kind of do, and yet would wither in anguish if he were still part of the show. He was such a great villain, played to perfection by Jack Gleeson. What was more, Joffrey was the king — part of what made him so unbearably terrible was that this was a young lad that could rule for years to come and make life miserable for everyone. Ramsay, as a character, doesn't have that going on for him. There's a big difference between an insane man that is sure to rule and an insane man that will likely remain a bit player. Someone mentioned Tywin. Curiously, I never thought he was used to the fullest effect. I could say that about Ned or Oberyn, as well, or any other of the departed. Guess it's part of the charm GRRM's predictable unpredictability has, that he takes away characters "realistically" — not always at their grandest hour, but a bit before that. Joffrey, though, was there for the taking.
Farwynds Oceanseer
I miss Joffery in the show because no one else has stepped up to be as deliciously despicable. Since he lacked the talent to seize power on his own and only ruled because of his family's fraudulent "Baratheon" lineage, he could regularly be humiliated with a slap and come back to mutilate a singer or earn our undying hatred by tormenting Sansa. The new show-villains don't fill the the gleeful villain void as well as the new book villains did. In the books, Ramsey is more of a brutal, slobbering pit-bull of a man than the nimble torture-elf of the show, and he is authentically menacing in a way that TV Ramsey isn't. Roose is terrifying in the books and the show, but he doesn't get enough screen time and, without the Northern lords, there are fewer people for him to manipulate. Circe becomes a Mad Queen to rival the Mad King, but we don't experience this in the show because we don't get to listen in on her deteriorating thought processes as the leap from one paranoid conclusion to an other. We don't get to see her paranoid delusions lead her to burn down they Red Keep hoping Tyrion is inside or send her friends over to Qyburn for human experimentation on an unfounded fear. The book did an adequate job of replacing Joffery with lurid, gothic grotesques; so far the show hasn't.
House Soprano
Roose might be a villain, but noone really despises him. Check the Roose appreciation thread.
Lerxst
Yeah, he was a good villain! He was evil and chaotic; you never knew what kind of twisted crap he would pull, but you knew he would try something and kept you guessing. Ramsay's just too... predictable. I could tell you 3 seasons form now (providing he lives) what he will do in any given circumstance... he's just too bland to play the villain role. ServantOnIce
Yes, the show misses him and the books miss him and Tywin. I have lamented before that the series lost too much in ASOS .. . .GRRM got character elimination happy and introduced characters in books 4 and 5 that we just don't care about .. . . ServantOnIce
Roose might be a villain, but noone really despises him. Check the Roose appreciation thread. Roose's decisions are logical . . he saw his chance for advancement when Eddard got imprisoned/executed and he knew Robb was too naive and arrogant to be a threat to him. LindsayLohan
I didn't really miss Joff until the Faith imprisoned Margeary. Tommen was too young in the books, and is too passive in the show (book Tommen is a bit of a little badass). Could you imagine the Faith trying to imprison Margeary AFTER Joffrey's been getting dat ass on the regular?OMG. It would have been epic, either in print or on the show. *sigh*
hatbar
I enjoyed watching Jack's portrayal of Joff, I thought he was better than the book version but I don't think I would want him back. I still really miss Michelle Fairley's Catelyn
of man and wolf
Joffrey was easier to hate in the show than books. In the books I didnt really see him as all that much. On the show though, he was just a little shit who I didnt think ruled at all. It was all Tywin. Didnt like the guy, but he was never feared. Roose has surpassed him easily, and Ramsay is way more evil and twisted. And in fact, the Boltons have done far more now to the Starks than Joffrey ever has. Joff was a coward. Ramsay isn't. Ramsay would laugh at what people think Joff does is considered cruel. Ramsay is better than Joffrey and more interesting, so I dont mind that he is gone. Ramsays chapters are also more interesting because of who he is dealing with mostly and what's at stake. The guys are just so sinister.
Colonel Green
I think Joffrey was pretty played out by the time he died. There's only so much to be done with a villain as dumb as him.
Arya and Needle
This is a weakness of both the show AND the books. Joffrey and Tywin were the main villains of Seasons 1-4. I have no idea who the main villain of the series is supposed to be - the others and their king? Littlefinger? An insane Dany? I guess that is part of GRRM's plan - to keep the reader guessing as to who the ultimate villain of the story is (if there is just one), but the lack of an answer is part of the weakness of AFFC and ADWD. I think that's probably part of the reason for modifying Sansa's storyline - to make Ramsey even more hateable and have him fill more of the void left by Joffrey and Tywin. The problem is he's more akin to Gregor Clegane - purely evil and super hateable, but without the political power of Tywin or Joffrey to make them the central bad guy of the whole story.
