goomba
How likely is it that the battle of Winterfell/Siege of Winterfell happens during this season?
Wyman Manderly's Meat Pies
I think someone was cast as "Baratheon General" and Stephen Dillane did some behind the scenes thing where he was grimy and bloody. I'd say at least a clash with some scouts is likely.
RenlyTheOneTrueKing
Not a whole battle I think. For me, it looks like Ramsay will slaughter Stannis and retreat, aster burning his camp. This fire gives Melisandre more power and she burns Shireen so Stannis can be born again. Stannis wouldn't be able to live with it though.
RenlyTheOneTrueKing
Then again, doesn't Shireen maybe need burning to save Jon?
kyles1
Unless Melisandre uses Jon to save Stannis if the story should go that way...
Mister Stoneheart
Or Jon could simply die. No definite in his return.
kyles1
I think he is being pegged as a significant character in the show, so not sure he would just die.
Jon Fossoway
Stannis will kill Roose in battle. Ramsay will get killed by Theon. Maybe they both kill each other. Ramsay will have Brienne tortured, and Sansa will kill Brienne to get her out of her misery. It is known.
nyser1
I doubt we will a resolution to the battle, though I am eagerly awaiting it (come on George with the TWOW!)
HodoringHodor
Probably not. GRRM said 4 characters who are still alive in the books will die this season. First was Mance, 2nd was Barristan, 3rd is most likely Meryn Trant so that leaves only one more dying character who is still alive in books. I can't imagine the Stannis vs. Boltons to end up only with one death of a named character.
JonSnowed
The closer we get I am convinced we are going to get some early WInds of Winter stuff in the next few episodes, which we know includes the battle for WInterfell.

ni2tre
Very liky, this needs a closure before new storylines pop-up next season. No reason to waste time. We have seen Stannis and Ramsay bloodied in sets so there'll be some kind of battle.
Jon Fossoway
What about Jorah? I don't thin he will die in this season. Agreed, he is bound to death now, with greyscale, but that takes a while to take over the body and mind of a person.
Staenerys Stargaryen
It seems to me they are using the premise of the theon, jeyne, umber, situation and replacing a similar theon, sansa, brienne type of deal... So Theon saves Sansa, Stannis kills Ramsay, but then Brienne murders Stannis... Might could be thats too many deaths

I can't imagine the Stannis vs. Boltons to end up only with one death of a named character. The fourth is likely Shireen. Its's been hinted at now, on the show since the back half of last season. The writers are not going to keep pointing toward it occuring and then, have it not. The only way it doesn't happen, in my opinion, is if Stannis is killed instead, trying to save her. Jorah isn't going anywhere. He will bring Greyscale, back to Westeros, I think that is clear.
King in the Narrow Sea
God I hope it isn't Stannis. I couldn't stand it if he dies against the Bastard of the Bolton. I have a friend who is a Ramsay fan as well (he does it to get a rise out of me, I'm sure of it) and I won't be able to bear it if he dies against the Boltons.
