If Tyrion tells Bronn to slit his throat, I think that would work. But banishing or forcing him to flee, per the OP? I doubt he would succeed. While he was Hand, the only thing Tyrion worried about was actually having the coin to protect KL and prosecute the war. In fact, KNOWING about the crooked banking would probably make LF MORE valuable to Tyrion, because he would believe he had leverage on him he could use.
