Jorah Mormont in the pit.

I hate Jorahs fight scenes.

He always stretches out his arm and holds it stiff. Then he swings the stiff arm and people fall down.

So stupid. So unrealistic

1.Punching the fisherman

2.Punching Tyrion

3.Punching in the pit

4.Using the helmet in the pit

So I expect him to be doing a lot more of "straight arm punching"

Maybe it's a sort of a trial. If he wins his fight in the pit, Dany will forgive him.

i dont see book dany ever doing this ...throughout ADWD she misses jorah and wonders did he make it back to home...

but in the show now it looks like she will send him to fight while keeping tyrion with her ...its just doesnt make sense ...guess have to wait and see

You are right, it really doesn't make sense, so what I think will happen, is Tyrion being put to the test just like Jorah.

The crucial difference being that Jorah's test is going to be in the Pit, while Tyrion's test is going to be in front of Dragons.

I also think that after Tyrion passes the test, it will be he who convinces Dany to give Jorah another chance(test in the Pit).

I'm thinking he's gonna have to be the one yelling "try me", which is a shame. It would have sounded so much better coming from Barry. So no, I can't see that happening - i'd be down for BBQ Daario though.

Actually, I think it would work better. Barristan's "try me" is more about himself - his duty, his honour, his guilt. While Jorah is in love with Dany. A "Try me" is about Jorah protecting Dany for Dany's sake, not his.

I doubt Dany would say, 'yeah go in the pitsand if you win you can be my mate again' it's more likely she outright refused him to serve her ever again so he chooses to fight in the pits because he's angry and wants to prove his love/loyalty.

Forgot about that. But I still cant see any good reason for Jorah to fight.

Dany says "screw you"(not that way) and sends him off again and he chooses to fight to stay close to Dany since he knows she'll be watching. Sorta makes sense in that desperate mindset.

Jorah doesn't serve a lot of purpose to anyone from this moment forward, but he is the classic gladiator champion archetype of a man with nothing to lose. Tyrion may persuade Danaerys to keep him around as he's loyal and compassionate to "broken things" - Jorah certainly fits that bill.
