[Spoilers All] Cersei of House Lannister

Last warning. Spoilers.

Ok. So as we all know, Cersei Lannister will be punished by the High Sparrow and undergo a walk of atonement through the streets of Kings Landing.

How do you all think the scene will play out? What will be the circumstances of the Walk? Who else will be present?

Here's my personal thoughts, if anyone cares lol.

I think we will start out with Cersei somehow catching wind of Marg being released back into the Kings custody. This will prompt her to want to take immediate action to return to the Red Keep. She'll confess to the affair with Lancel, demand trial by battle for the rest, and beg to go home. HS agrees, but on his terms.

We get a short montage of the hair cutting, the escort outside, and the faith militant getting ready. Boom, we're on the steps of the Sept. HS gives a speech, Unella yanks off Cersei's shift, and we're on our way. We know from the leaked pics that Unella walks with Cersei, as do a couple faith militant (hopefully Lancel will be one of them). We'll get the insults, rotten vegetables, etc.

Eventually she'll start crying and running, and collapse in a courtyard in the Red Keep. I'm sure Kevan, Qyburn, and hopefully Robert Strong will be there. I think it would be interesting if Olenna was there as well, just to add insult to injury. RS scoops her up and carries her inside, and that will be the last we see of Cersei Lannister in season 5.

Anything you disagree on? I think this could be one of the most powerful scenes on the show, so id love for some good discussion! Thanks!

It would be great if Margaery was somehow released (maybe as a reward to Olenna for telling the High Sparrow about Lancel) and she was there in the Red Keep watching, with her hair intact and a beautiful gown... and with Tommen by her arm. That would really break Cersei.

Sounds good, although I doubt Olenna will be there. I'm hoping something happens to Olyvar that prevents him from testifying at Marg and Joras' trials and they get released. If that happens, Olenna would be smart to take her grandchildren and hightail it back to Highgarden.

It would be great if during her walk she was hit with about 5 crossbow bolts and died.

Won't happen though. Bummer.

I actually think it would be cool to see one or two people actually try to run out from the crowd and try to hurt her. Obviously they wouldn't succeed, but it could be a good way to show how much the common people hate her.

Olenna did not tell the HS about Cersei and Lancel. Lancel did.

I hope the show will recreate the feeling of this scene in the book: after all of the horrible things Cersei has done, after the reader wants her to suffer perhaps the worst fate of any character in the books, you actually feel sorry for her after going through the WOS. It's such a disgusting, shameful experience that you actually sympathize with her.

I must not be as sympathetic as you. I was dismayed by the way Cersei recalled the story of her grandfather's mistress being forced to walk naked by Tywin. Naturally the woman was shamed and crying. Cersei's attitude was "If they think I'll act that way, they are mistaken"

I hoped that Cersei would be humbled by the experience, enough to take a serious look at herself and how her own actions had gotten her in that predicament. I have a feeling she won't be, if she is allowed to use a champion to fight to determine her guilt or innocence--(and that champion is Robert Strong and he wins). Cersei seems doomed not to grow.

There is nothing they can do to her that could even make up for all of the evil she has done to be where she is (in the books). As for "Carol", she has been watered down so much that show viewers only think she is sympathetic and suffered a marriage to Robert and never wanted to be Queen. Read the books, they are wonderful and give you a proper insight into the characters that the show has completely distorted in some cases. Probably no more so than Cersei "Carol" Lannister.

^^Um Cersei is pretty universally despised by show watchers.

that's the entire point. wishing extreme violence and pain on cersei is pointless because its not going to bring back any of the people she hurt.

and most people still hate show cersei and show cersei still has done a lot of extremely horrible things

The show did a good job showing that Cersei doesn't truly love her children, when she manipulated Tommen and lied to him.

However, most of the audience prefer believing in Cersei's lies than looking at her actions.

I hope that they used CGI for that scene, thinking that "Carol" or someone else walked naked in the crowd for real makes me feel uneasy.
