[BOOK SPOILERS] Discussing Sansa XIX - The season with no reason

As usual, welcome to Discussing Sansa threads...

This iteration, at least for me, is somewhat weird. Sansa Stark has always been a character we had a lot to discuss, but after tonight's epic debacle, I am not even sure that there is something to discuss. The entire storyarc was basically pointless and I am genuinely questioning everyone claiming this had any sense. Overall, this was the most pointless storyarc ever written. And I would like to see the mental gymnastics enforced when it comes to justifying this. Or basically better 4/5 of the show this season.

Please be nice to each other. And please don't insult producers. It is tasteless and it has no place in civilized conversation. Criticize the show, storylines, whatever, but not them...

For the last time this season... Welcome :)

Do we even have something to discuss? I don't remember seeing Sansa on tonight. I guess you could say she did a lot more than Jeyne, but she never striked me as Sansa. She jumped out of her own choice and escaped Ramsay, so at least we can pretend this never ever happened.

Myranda falls off one side of the wall and dies. Sansa and Theon jump off the other side of the wall and live (because, duh, they're alive). Oookay.

Basically, this season was exactly what I expected as soon as it became clear they were sending Sansa to Winterfell, namely, Sansa is a slightly-more-proactive Jeyne Poole. I know a lot of people were expecting we'd see her use the Walda pregnancy thing, for instance, but nope, that was just a setup for her to be "badass" by calling Ramsay a bastard, and she never did one thing this season that had anything to do with learning to play the game of thrones.

But apparently she was doing night classes at the House of Black and White and learned to pick a lock with a corkscrew somehow.

I expect next season will open with her and Theon meeting up with Brienne and Pod, and heading north to Castle Black, only to learn about Jon's death. But that will put them in contact with Davos, who will probably join their group and end up helping look for Rickon, sort of like he is in the books.

Well, the season is over and it can be said officially, not than no one has been saying it until now, that her character ABSOLUTELY DID NOT HAVE TO BE RAPED AT ALL. There. Now, next season, Littlefinger will be entering the North and that means another pervert enters the Sansa stakes. Truely, they are milking her as the damsel in distress for all it is worth. Lady Bolton, the lesser (Walda is still much alive and Pregnant) may or may not have survived the fall but odds are she did as LF and Ramsay's story revolves around her and she now has to find Rickon. I expect the North and her plot to be just as big next year. Hopefully bigger as other than her wedding and rape episode, we did not get as much of her as I thought. That may be a good thing though.

I bet that scene was unscripted. Sophie and Alfie just had it with that shitty plotline and jumped to their deaths.

Sansa, darling, there's no part of you left anyway. Like Jaime, Dany and so many other characters, you're just some weird, intangible spirit going through the motions.

Anybody think we'll see Sansa back in season 6? Or is she gone for good. I don't mean she died from the jump either.

Nope, she'll never be back, nor will the multitude of other characters butchered during the course of this show.

I think we can discard all "Sansa is pregnant!" Theories now, thank the gods.

If she was, that fall should take care of it, besides, it is apparent that her frame of mind was that she would rather die then bring a Bolton into the World. Waste of a season and her character.

I agree, a bunch of last season had her learning to manipulate people and then total backwards characterization this season. It did seem pointless in the end, especially since Ramsay always won at everything. I've mentioned that before but I wanted him to be hurt. I'm glad she escaped but it really made no difference in the end.

You think? I can see it going either way, to be honest.

I counted. She's been married for a week and a half, so it's almost impossible. She then jumped from a very high structure. Also, there doesn't seem to be a point in her being pregnant, so I'm just glad this is all over. Now, wait and see how this show will just ignore this plot line next year. And Sansa will return to empowered Sansa and become a player yet again to retcon with her book!character.
