Prediction: Hizdahr is the Harpy

I was thinking about what the most popular character Tyrion will get to do in Season 6.

Dealing with politics and Harpies in Meereen is the obvious answer. And I do believe that there is one single leader to the sons of the harpy, aka THE harpy.

Many - including me - thought in the show that would be Hizdahr since no other obvious candidate (like the green Grace) appears in the show. But he appeared to die in Daznak's pit.

Of course it is possible that D&D introduce a new character to portray the antagonist to Tyrion, but I believe that unlikely.

So, those are my assumptions:

-Tyrion will feature prominently in Season 6 as power broker in Meeren

-his main antagonist will be THE harpy and this identity is slowly revealed

-We already know the character who is secretly leading the harpies

all the known characters (Varys, Missandei, Grey Worm) in Meereen are extremely unlikely in my eyes to be the harpy. And the show has not introduced a single noblemen besides Hizdahr.

Before the stabbing commences Hizdahr comes late to the show and when asked where he was, his (unconvincing) answer is: To see if everything is in order.

Minutes later the harpies appear and he is supposedly killed. We see him bleeding on the ground, but we do not see his corpse.

I believe it is possible he faked his death and will reappear in Season 6. What are your thoughts?

If Hizdahr isn't dead, I would be rooting for him in Mereen and not Tyrion - but I think he is.

Perhaps Varys is, or knows, the harpy and it was always just a plan to get Dany out of Essos and back to Westeros.

I doubt it because how would he know that Drogon would save her?

Also why kill off part of the army she needs to take Westeros?

Hizdahr is dead and maybe he was the Harpy, but definitely not anymore.

And the show already hinted that the next thing Tyrion & Val will do is figure out the current leader and free the city from their terror.

Or there is no secret leader of the Harpies and they just get together and cause problems for Dany's rule. I could see Hizdahr making a deal with them and then they double crossed him at Daznak's Pit and killed him, but not as the Harpy's leader. Varys....ehhh, maybe, if only to cause strife and get Dany to get her butt moving to conquer Westeros and get out of Mereen but it seems Drogon has already taken care of that.

I hope Tyrion and Varys can handle Mereen, if anything, it will be interesting to see how they handle it.

Which is a stretch because as clever as Varys is (and I love me some clever Varys) he would know she would be in too much unpredictable danger of being killed and had no way of knowing her bouncing baby boy would show up.

Oh, unless he's a dragon trainer in his spare time. :)

I did a little pee when I saw Varys next to Tyrion. A whole season of this, please!

My hope is that they get out of Meereen post haste. As little as I care for Dany's plot in the books, it's far worse in the show. I don't care what happens in Essos, in the show or the books. Martin never gave us a reason to, and D&D haven't, either. The thought that Tyrion will spend a season in Meereen playing detective while Missandei wrinkles her brow and Grey Worm tries to look noble - gods preserve us.

Or act like Anakin and Padme from the Star Wars prequels....ugggh. And I agree, with maybe two more seasons, they really need to get Dany's story moving....and hopefully Tyrion and Varys as well(shameless Tyrion fan here :P )

Question: if they agree with the books on Dany and Hizdahr actually marrying and bedding, wouldn't Hizdahr have the claim to rule Mereen?? That is if he survives in the show, of course. Or are they just killing him off to put Tyrion into power?

Has the show even established the search for 'The Harpy'? They've mentioned the SOTH, but IIRC not some counsel-led mission into finding out who 'The Harpy' is.

So, Dragon Girl needs 50 men to "advise" (help) her to run the former slave city (Mereen) and can't even control Yunkai. I don't know why many of you see her as someone to rule the Iron Throne. The politics at Mereen is nothing compared to Westeros.

I hope she and her dragons die in Season 6, at least she dies. Would be a good shock and also make the Stannermen (Stannis fans, from Bannermen) happy.

I believe it is Daenerys' lover sell-sword Daario Naharis is "The Harpy".

The politics in Slavers Bay are much more complicated than those in Westeros. Dany destroyed the entire foundation of all three cities, and they are now in chaotic turmoil. Westeros wouldn't get that bad unless every single major house was unseated and eviscerated, with commoners risen to lords.

I do like the idea of Daario as the harpy, but I can't see his motivation if he is. Dany has already upset the entire balance of power in the region. He has no cause to keep her alive while attacking her authority from the shadows.

The faster Tyrion and Dany leave Essos the better. I'm hoping it's BEFORE the end of S6. Unfortunately, I'm sure S6 will end with Dany flying over the sea on the back of Drogon, or some crap like that. The seasons always end with Dany, correct? Anyway, if Tyrion is stuck in Meeren throughout S6 to deal with a grayscale outbreak or set up some new form of government (democracy), I'm going to gouge out my eyes.
