Pyat Pree

Recommended Posts

I'm new to the forum and couldn't find anything on this. 1st post!

Did anyone find it odd that Pyat Pree was left alive by Jhogo and Rakharo after he drew a knife and tried to kill Danaerys? Last time someone tried to kill Danaerys, they were dragged behind The Silver and died slowly.

And what about the Warlocks? Apparently they survived the Drogo burning and are now in league with Euron.

Wrong sub-forum :uhoh:

Simply because they are quests at Qarth. If Dothraki kills someone in the city, even a beggar, I think they would put them outside and Dothraki and Dany would starve or die of thirst in the Red Waste. Dothraki numbered around 100 when Dany was in Qarth and I'm not even sure about that number, they weren't in a khalasar that numbered around 100.000.

The Undying died in the fire, they did not survive: But their...underlings?, I mean warlocks, are still around of course. The Undying were the top-tier Warlocks, think it like a hierachy.

Welcome to the Forums :)

The Warlocks are with Euron now. He captured them. Euron used their Magic to probably increase the speed of his ship when sailing to the Iron Isles.

Apparently the Dragonhorn Euron has was also acquired from the Warlocks, fwiw...

The dragon horn is most likely a slave binding horn acquired from Valyria.

Why would the valyrians need dragonbinding tools when it's already present in their blood.?

Dany said Valyrians used spells, horns and whips to tame dragons. And he didn't visit Valyria. He is clearly lying.

Preston Jacobs, am I right?

Yes I believe Jacobs orginated that theory. However Dany only knows what Viserys told her. Also apparently sheep works well at taming dragons.

Yes. :P

He has many crakpot theories but this one seems to be the one that seems likely to be true

It did sound a lot more compelling than most of them. What did you think of who he thought was actually behind Balon's killing?

What the hell is a slavebinding horn?

Can someone shed light on the gift Pyat Pree gave to Danaerys? An ointment that lets her see spirits in the air? What's that about? That's been bothering me since I first read it.

We don't know really. It puzzled me too! Finally people are slowly giving attention to it lol

I thought about it a lot but how do you use that thing? Where do you apply it?

Apparently the spirits of the air are blamed for the sounds you hear when no one is around...

“A voice from nowhere,” Sandor said. He peered through his helm, looking this way and that. “Spirits of the air!”

AGOT

It makes sense given the air is associated with communication and music and sound.

I hope GRRM reveals one or two things about it but I think it's unlikely....

This is my first day on the forum. I cant express to you the relief that someone else in the world has thought of that. I've been reading these books since 2010 and never knew there was a community this large until a few months ago. That was the first question I wanted to ask and I'm glad you responded. I really hope to get an answer to that question one day.

Basically it binds people. It makes people obey the horn blower. That's how Euron won the King's moot.

Well considering GRRM said that we would find out the fate of Pyat Pree in TWOW I assume we will also learn more about what it is that he gave her and maybe even a few hidden secrets aswell

I suppose that this is the wrong place to discuss it but if the horn makes people obey it then why were there still a lot who disagreed with him, and he needed both a good speech and many gifts to win over the other ones?

We learned from the App that Euron got the horn from the Warlocks. That doesn't mean it wasn't made in Valyria.

Some of us have theorized that the horns are what create the blood bond between a family of humans and a family of dragons. For example maybe hundreds of years ago some Targaryen sacrificed his life to blow the horn and tame the first Targaryen dragon, from whom Balerion and all the others descend.

Or it could just be a tool to wrest control of a dragon away from some rival family.

^Perhaps that is how the worlocks helped Euron with his wide swing out to sea to hit the Shields by surprise?

So maybe it allows a sorcerer to practice aeromancy?

We don't have a lot to go on here but its awfully coincidental that we have a warlock saying he has a liquid that will allow you to see air spirits and then see worlocks utilize strange/unknown of wind patterns.

And I've seen it said they played a role in the storm during which Balon died...
