The Valonquer

Recommended Posts

not sure if anyone has looked more into this , but I was rereading the first novel a game of thrones. In it Cercei tells Eddard that she was told that when her and Jaime were born they came into the world together with Jaime HOLDING ONTO CERCEI'S FOOT. now since my four children all came into this world head first I assume this is ususlly the case, this being so surely if Jaime was holding onto her foot ,themn Cercei was born first of the two twins. Jaime is therefore the younger brother of the two , and lets face it even though Tyrion is younger still, Cercei's eternal hatred of him makes her view him as not a brother more an embarrassment to the golden family that is house Lannister.

I therefore name Jamie the valonquer and bet my last pound that Cercei will die by his hand(s). discuss.

I've heard this before. It seems entirely possible.

I would actually prefer Cersei to die at the hands of Jaimie. I think that would be a good way for her to reach her demise.

They will die together.IIRC Cersei says as much "We were born into this world together and we will leave it together" or something similar.

Well jaime is certainly pissed enough to do it. The story of their birth parallels the story of jacob and esau, jacob was born clasping esau's ankle, esau was rash and impulsive while jacob was shrewd, jacob convinced esau to give up his birthright

I think if jaime lives he would be a good bet. Sandor is also a younger brother, I wonder if he will resurface as the campion for the faith...then maybe he is the valonqar

One thing I was wondering was if valonqar strictly means younger brother or is gender nuetral...it is a valyrian word and it reminds me of aemon realizing that the prince that was promised could be a princess.

So Jamie dies shortly after killing Cercie. However part of the Maggy the Frog prophecy is that everything she holds dear would be taken from her which we can assume means her children, and her power, and her precious Jamie. But on the other other hand Jamie and Cercie's relationship changed dramatically after Jamie lost his hand and even more after Tywin's death. So my stance is I would like for Jamie to be the Volanqar for poetic justice reasons but I wouldn't be surprised if he dies in TWoW.

Can Maggy the frog have been wrong in her prophecies? Just like Mel saw Arya coming to the wall, who was really jeyne, could she have mixed up jaime and cercei?

-they looked alike when younger, exchanging cloth without been spotted

-the prophecy says 3 children, cercei had 4, one with Robert. Gold crown and shroud would still apply.

- her shaved head could be what misled Maggy's visions?

The part thats not working is : not marrying the prince but the king, but thats a different vision from the valonquar, I'd say.

Total crackpot but could Tyrion be Jaime's valonquar?

*Edited to follow topic.

No. Mel explained what she saw, hence she had to be wrong. Maggy's foretelling is/was cryptic, therefore correct.

NEVER HAPPENED. :bang:

I think that first "dark-haired boy" is only mentioned in the show. I thought that it was Gendry and Cersei had him secreted away while (with help from someone) convinced Robert and the court that the child had died.

HOWEVER, I'm pretty sure that was ONLY in the show.

Yep, just looked after Ferocious answer, only show. I kinda hate MtF prophecies, theyre too literal, gotta have something to it.
