Bad luck awards~GRRTH version

Recommended Posts

he made his own, "bad luck".

so it really is not "bad luck", it's "what goes around, comes around" type of deal.

at least, IMO.

He had no say in getting bullied and beaten up by his brothers, in being taken as a hostage (which completely fucked him up) and in being displaced as heir when he came home.

Pretty much everything he does afterwards is a consequence of those last two.

that literally happens to every, single one of us who have older brothers.

in being taken as a hostage

he was a ward more-so than a hostage, his life was never in danger at WF and was never punished for his fathers actions. he was treated amazingly well.

in being displaced as heir when he came home

if he was not dressed in velvet and gold, and did not say that Robb would "give" Balon the Iron Islands in exchange for his support, who knows what would have happened?

Theon lost all of Balon's respect when he came in dressed, and talked like a Nancy Boy, according to the Iron Islanders way of life.

You're extremely naive if you think he was more a ward than a prisoner, there's a reason Ned decided never to warm up to him.

As far as we know, his life was very much in danger at Winterfell. Suffice that his father rises again, and snap, no more Theon.

You wouldn't call being dragged away from you loving mother, sister, friends, and uncles, only to be stranded in an alien castle full of people suspicious and hostile towards your kind punishment?

And no, he was not treated exceptionally well, as per George's own words, he was treated pretty much as any highborn hostage would be.

Ned's fault for displacing him and completely alienating him from his own culture.

Robb is the one who wrote he would give Balon a Kingdom, not Theon.
